Not one Fiji operator publishes a chauffeur hourly rate. What the market does publish is useful anyway: one operator's full transfer rate card in Fijian dollars, two operators naming actual vehicle models, one publishing a maximum fleet age, and an official fast-track arrivals service run by the airport itself. Those four facts are how you brief a VIP transfer properly.
What does a private transfer actually cost?
Tourist Transport Fiji is the only Fiji ground operator publishing an FJD rate card. These are its one-way private transfer rates from Nadi International, by passenger band. Conversions use the Reserve Bank of Fiji indicative rate published on 28 September 2026 — FJD 1 = AUD 0.6330 and NZD 0.7850 — which the RBF states is "for indicative purposes only".

| Suva hotels — Novotel Lami Bay, Holiday Inn, Tanoa Plaza, Peninsula, Grand Pacific Hotel | FJ$509 | 582 | 669 | 878 | A$322 |
Extras published on the same card: a baby seat or capsule at FJ$20 per seat per transfer, and surfboards at FJ$20 per board. Groups of 18 and over are quoted on request. Whether these rates include VAT is not published, so confirm it — on a Suva transfer the difference is real money.
Read the geography in that table before you read the prices. Nadi to Denarau is FJ$112 and Nadi to Suva is FJ$509 for the same one to three passengers. A speaker you fly into Nadi and drive to Suva costs four and a half times the same speaker staying on Denarau, and takes most of the morning. Our real transfer times piece has the drive times that go with these fares.
Which operators publish real vehicles?
Two, and this is where a VIP brief either works or does not. "Luxury vehicle" in an email means nothing. A model name means something.
Go Local Fiji publishes the most specific line-up in the market:
- Toyota Alphard, 1–7 seats — the standard executive people-mover across the Pacific, and the right answer for a speaker plus a minder plus luggage
- Toyota Prado, 1–4 seats
- Higer vans, 5–8 seats
- 15-seat bus, 22-seat coaster, 35-seat bus
TEWAKA, a Fijian-owned DMC operating since 1999, publishes sedans, SUVs, vans, mini coaches and 53-seat deluxe coaches built to Australian Design Rule standards, plus electric vehicles — including the Maxus MIFA 9 Elite, which it lists with a range of "up to 435km/270miles". That is the only named executive EV in the Fiji market, and it is a genuinely good look for a sustainability-minded programme. TEWAKA also publishes an arrivals lounge at Nadi International with personalised meet and greet.
Pehicle Tours Fiji, operating since 2006, publishes private sedans at four seats up to 49-seat coaches, all air-conditioned and fitted with seatbelts, with four, eight and twelve-hour charter options and — unusually — named VIP and film-crew transport plus Japanese-speaking guides. If your programme has a Japanese delegation or a shoot attached, that is a specific capability to ask about.
Tourist Transport Fiji publishes a range from a four-seat private vehicle to 48-seat coaches, including 17 and 30-seaters and wheelchair-lift vehicles. Accessibility is rarely published in Fiji, so that is worth noting.
What counts as a VIP standard in Fiji?
One operator publishes anything measurable. Fiji VIP Transfers, a brand of Rosie Holidays, publishes three tiers and two standards:
| Tier | Seats | Published inclusions |
|---|---|---|
| Private Premium | 4 | Free wifi, full air conditioning |
| Private Standard | 4–15 | Full air conditioning |
| Shared Coach | 37 | Free wifi, full air conditioning |
The standards are the useful part: vehicles "not older than 4 years", drivers trained by an in-house team, and diagnostic checks using the Jaltest system. It also requires booking 48 hours in advance, which is the kind of detail that ruins an arrivals plan if you find out late.
No other Fiji operator publishes a fleet age or a maintenance regime. Descriptions run to "modern", "new and well-maintained" and "immaculate condition", which are adjectives, not standards. If vehicle age matters to your duty of care, ask for it in writing and ask for the model year.
Rosie Holidays itself publishes a 24-hour office in the Nadi International arrivals hall, Landcruiser Prado private transfers, tour desks at major hotels and resorts, and staff able to work in Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Italian, Russian, Spanish, French and German. For an inbound delegation with mixed languages, that last item is the one to press on.
Can you fast-track a speaker through Nadi arrivals?
Yes, and it is run by the airport, not a third party. Fiji Airports publishes a VIP Arrival Service at Nadi International with a specified process:
- A Guest Relations Officer meets the guest at the gate, holding a personalised name board
- The guest is escorted through the fast-track immigration lane
- The GRO accompanies them to baggage reclaim and assists with collection
- The GRO escorts them through customs and biosecurity
- Handover at the arrivals concourse to your ground handler, chauffeur or onward escort to the domestic terminal
Bookings go to gro@fijiairports.com.fj. No fee, eligibility criterion or lounge inclusion is published, so ask for all three. This is the cleanest published premium-arrivals process in the country and it solves the problem that actually embarrasses planners: a keynote speaker standing in a queue behind two widebodies of holiday traffic.
Fiji Airways also markets a Premier Service and a Premier Lounge at Nadi, but we were unable to read its published inclusions, so confirm what is covered directly with the airline rather than assuming fast-track immigration is part of it. Independent operators offer meet-and-assist at Nadi as well — Fiji Fast Track, run by the Airport VIP Pte Ltd Group, publishes airside greeting, border assistance and escort to a lounge or gate, with prices quoted on request rather than published.
How should you treat speakers and sponsors differently from delegates?
The mistake is treating VIP transport as a nicer version of delegate transport. It is a different problem. Delegate transfers optimise for cost per head and coach utilisation; VIP transfers optimise for certainty and for the guest never waiting.
Four practical rules:
- Dedicate the vehicle. A sponsor sharing a coach with delegates is not a sponsor being looked after, whatever the vehicle. The 1–3 passenger rate above is the price of that certainty.
- Pair the transfer with the arrivals service. A chauffeur in the concourse is no use if your speaker is stuck at immigration. Book both or neither.
- Hold the vehicle, do not release it. Speakers change plans. A four, eight or twelve-hour charter with a driver on standby costs less than the chaos of finding a car at 9pm in Sigatoka.
- Brief the driver on the person, not the route. Name, arrival time, who they are, what language they prefer, and who to call. Fiji's operators are good at this if told.
What should be in the brief?
Ask for these seven things in writing, because most are unpublished:
- Exact vehicle make, model and year
- Whether the price includes VAT
- Waiting time included, and the charge after it
- Flight-monitoring arrangements for a delayed arrival
- Whether the driver is dedicated for the stay or shared across movements
- Public liability and passenger insurance cover
- The escalation phone number that a real person answers at 3am
The verdict
For an executive arrival on Denarau or in Nadi, the published market is genuinely serviceable: FJ$112 buys a private transfer to Denarau on a rate card you can check, Go Local publishes an Alphard, Fiji VIP Transfers publishes a four-year fleet-age ceiling, and the airport itself will walk your guest through immigration.
For Suva, budget FJ$509 one way and half a day, or look hard at whether the programme should be in Suva at all.
And for anything described only as "luxury", ask for the model year. That single question separates the operators who publish standards from the ones who publish adjectives.
