Climate-U Network Conference 2026: Higher Education and the Climate Crisis
The Climate-U Network Conference on Higher Education and the Climate Crisis is convened by the international Climate-U network (led by UCL's Institute of Education, and building on the Climate-U project funded by the UK Global Challenges Research Fund). The 2026 edition is hosted by the University of the South Pacific at its Laucala Campus in Suva, 23-27 November 2026, under the banner 'Transforming Universities for a Changing Climate', with USP acting as the network lead institution and conference host. The published format spans interactive seminars, workshops, research presentations and artistic engagements across eight sub-themes, from sustainable campus initiatives and university governance to climate justice and intersectionality, indigenous peoples and heritage, climate mobility, finance and health, and pedagogy and curriculum; the organisers state it is free and open to academics, practitioners, activists, early-career researchers and students, with online participation available. Dates, host, campus, theme and sub-themes are confirmed from the organiser's own conference page and corroborated by an independent Mission 4.7 event listing. Re-checked on 2026-10-16: the conference's official call for abstracts, circulated through the convening partners, confirms 23-27 November 2026 and gives the venue as 'University of the South Pacific, Fiji / online' with no building named, and names Rosiana Lagi of USP as chair of the conference committee alongside co-organiser Tristan McCowan of UCL. No delegate figure has been published, and the only conference artwork issued so far is a promotional graphic rather than a photograph, so no image is carried; the USP Laucala Campus is not itself a listed property in this directory and no specific building has been named, so no property link is carried.
