How it works
The lifecycle of a listing — from free submission to owner-verified, kept live by the trust engine.
List your business (L1 — listed)
Anyone can submit a venue, accommodation, supplier or transport — free, no login. It creates an L1 "listed" record. Every submitted field is written through the append-only provenance system as a self-reported source. The record ships with a verification tier of L1 and a drift status of "confirmed".
Cross-confirmation (L2 — cross-confirmed)
Bots and editors add independent observations through provenance. When two causally-independent sources (distinct source references, otherwise distinct source types) affirm the same current field value, that field rises to L2. This is a genuine projection from the provenance log — not a manual label.
Claim your listing (L3 — owner-verified)
Owners verify by email code and become L3. On verification, the owner affirms all current field values through L3 owner provenance, making the owner the latest affirming source for every field. The record's heartbeat is recomputed and projects to L3. Owners can edit a whitelisted set of their own fields and child records — all through provenance at L3.
Hold-and-flag (disputed)
If a bot observes a value that conflicts with a standing owner-verified (L3) value, it never overwrites. Instead, it appends the bot observation to provenance, flags the record "disputed", holds the owner's value, and emails the owner to re-confirm. The dispute clears when the owner updates or the conflict resolves.
Drift cadence (stale)
A 90-day heartbeat runs across all records. If no provenance entry affirms a field within 90 days, the drift status becomes "stale". A scheduled verification sweep recomputes every record's heartbeat so tiers and drift stay live. Stale records are still visible — they just signal that the data hasn't been re-confirmed recently.
Discover, neutrally
Visitors browse or ask the AI concierge. The concierge only ever surfaces real records retrieved from the directory — it never invents listings, quotes prices, or implies availability. It runs a gather → confirm → curate → concept consultation flow across both MICE and Wedding briefs.
Verification tiers at a glance
Single-source or self-reported. The default for free submissions and bot observations.
Two or more causally-independent sources affirm the same current field value.
The latest affirming source for the field is the verified owner.
Drift — confirmed: the field head was affirmed within 90 days.
Drift — stale: no affirmation within 90 days.
Drift — disputed: a bot/L1 entry conflicts with a standing owner value (held, not overwritten).
