Six Fiji venues publish a single-room capacity of 300 or more delegates. Only two of them also publish enough on-site accommodation to sleep 300 people in single rooms. That gap — a big enough room, not enough beds beside it — is the real constraint at this size, and it is the one most 300-delegate briefs discover too late.

This is the third in our capacity series, after 100 delegates and 200 delegates. At 100 and 200 you are choosing between properties. At 300 you are choosing between a single-property solve and a precinct solve, and the honest answer for most 300-delegate conferences in Fiji is the precinct.

Which Fiji venues seat 300 or more in one room?

The Crowne Plaza conflict. The resort's own page says the pillarless ballroom seats "up to 900 delegates". IHG's corporate events listing gives 1,450. Trade coverage of the November 2025 opening reported 1,500 across a 925 m² ballroom, and one Fiji outlet reported 600. Separately, the resort publishes 1,540 m² of total meeting space while one report gives 16,576 — which is the same number in square feet, misread as metres. Treat the ballroom figure as unestablished until you have a seating plan.

Where 300 is comfortable rather than maximum. Anything at 400 theatre or above gives you the aisle widths, the staging depth and the screen sightlines a 300-delegate plenary actually needs. A room rated at exactly 300 is a room at 300 with no stage.

What about the outdoor and combined-space numbers?

Treat them separately, because most of Fiji's biggest published capacities are lawns.

Hilton Fiji Beach Resort & Spa publishes Koro Lawn at 3,989 m², 1,500 banquet and 2,000 cocktail — the largest event space on Denarau by area. Its total indoor event space, by Hilton's own figure, is 385 m² across three meeting rooms. Sheraton publishes the Pro-Shop Lawn at 800 banquet and 1,500 cocktail. Holiday Inn Suva publishes 350 delegates for its poolside pavilion "when combined with indoor venues"; its largest single room is the Lali Room at 200.

Outdoor space is excellent for your gala and useless for your plenary. Fiji's wet season makes a lawn-only plan a gamble — see wet-weather contingency planning for outdoor programmes.

Does the accommodation actually match?

This is where 300-delegate briefs come apart. A 300-delegate conference with mostly single occupancy needs 250 to 300 rooms in the same place.

Three of the properties with the biggest rooms do not publish a room count on the pages we checked. That is not a small gap when the room count is the binding constraint, and it is the first question to put in your RFP.

So what actually works for 300 delegates in Fiji?

Option 1 — Crowne Plaza Fiji Nadi Bay, single property. On its own published figures this is the cleanest single-property solve in the country for 300: a pillarless ballroom well above 300 whichever figure is right, 324 rooms, breakout space in the Baravi rooms and Event Centres, and a short run from Nadi International. It is also the newest conference stock in Fiji, which matters for AV infrastructure.

Option 2 — the Denarau precinct. Meet in the Denarau Island Convention Centre at Sheraton Fiji. Sleep across Sheraton, Sheraton Denarau Villas, Hilton Fiji, Sofitel, Radisson Blu Resort Fiji Denarau Island and the Westin — confirm the Westin's current operating status, as Marriott's overview page has carried a closure notice. Denarau is a single road loop, so one shuttle plan covers the lot. This is how most Fiji conferences above 250 are actually delivered.

Option 3 — Coral Coast, Shangri-La Yanuca Island. 650 theatre in one room, a second 400-theatre hall, and ten event spaces on an island connected by causeway. Transfer from Nadi is the trade-off; budget on published drive times, not optimism.

Option 4 — Suva, multi-property. Plenary in the Britannia Ballroom at the Grand Pacific Hotel (600 theatre), accommodation across GPH, Holiday Inn Suva, Novotel Suva Lami Bay and the Suva apartment stock. Right for domestic, regional and government-facing conferences. Wrong if delegates are flying in for Fiji rather than for the meeting — see Suva or Nadi.

Option 5 — InterContinental Fiji at Natadola. 600 theatre, pillar-less, with three divisible breakout rooms. Strong for a conference that wants to be somewhere, rather than in a precinct. Confirm the room count.

The five things to get in writing before you shortlist

  1. The largest room's theatre capacity with a stage and screens in place, not the empty-room number.
  2. A floor plan with the seating layout drawn, at your delegate number.
  3. The total room count and the number contractible as a block, which are not the same figure.
  4. Ceiling height and whether the room is pillarless — both decide your screen and staging options. See LED walls, projection and screens.
  5. Banquet kitchen throughput at 300 covers. The kitchen is the constraint nobody checks; ours is here.

The verdict

If you want one property, ask Crowne Plaza Fiji Nadi Bay first and Sheraton Fiji second. If you are willing to run a precinct — and at 300 in Fiji you probably should be — Denarau gives you the largest room in the country, the deepest room inventory, and the shortest transfer from Nadi International. Suva is the right answer only when your delegates are regional.

Next step

Build the ground plan before you sign the venue: moving 100, 300 and 800 delegates around Fiji and multi-property conferences. Then work the numbers from the capacity chart and the conference venues hub.
