Fiji has a working floral and styling trade, concentrated in Nadi, Lautoka and Suva, and almost none of it publishes a price. Every florist listed below quotes to brief, not from a menu. That is the single most useful thing to know before you start: there is no rate card to compare, so the comparison you run is on coverage, capability and what they put in writing.

Who are the wedding florists working in Fiji?

These are the florists in the MICE Fiji directory — businesses whose primary trade is flowers rather than styling. Where a business publishes nothing beyond a phone number, the table says so, because that is a real finding and not a gap we have papered over.

None of the seven publishes a price list, a minimum spend, or a travel fee. We checked Firefly Flowers Fiji's site directly and it carries no pricing or delivery information at all — enquiries go to a contact form. Treat any figure you see quoted elsewhere as second-hand until the florist confirms it in writing.

What is the difference between a Fiji florist and a Fiji stylist?

It matters more here than at home, because the two trades overlap heavily and the overlap is where couples get double-charged.

A florist supplies flowers: bouquets, buttonholes, arch florals, table arrangements. A stylist supplies the physical set — arbours, drapes, linen, chairs, lighting, signage, backdrops — and increasingly supplies flowers too. If you book both without dividing the scope, you will be quoted twice for the arch.

The geography is the headline. Of the eighteen florists and stylists above, none is based on the Coral Coast, on Denarau, or in the islands. Everyone servicing a Denarau or Mamanuca wedding is travelling to it — from Nadi in most cases, from Lautoka or Suva in the rest. Build that into your brief and your budget. The full set is browsable at /category/florists and /category/stylists.

Can you bring your own flowers into Fiji?

No — not without declaring them, and you should assume they will not clear.

The Biosecurity Authority of Fiji lists "fresh or dried flowers" among the plant material that must be declared on arrival, alongside potted and bare-rooted plants, cuttings, roots, bulbs, seeds and nuts. Undeclared regulated goods carry "a spot fine of FJD400.00 or make you liable for prosecution with a maximum fine of up to FJD20,000 or imprisonment for six months, or both", and all baggage is x-rayed or hand-checked for them.

So the fantasy of flying in a suitcase of peonies is exactly that. Silk and dried arrangements are a different question and still need declaring — ask BAF before you pack, not after.

Biosecurity rules are a guideline only here. Confirm current requirements with the Biosecurity Authority of Fiji before travelling. Last reviewed 17 September 2026.

What flowers actually work in Fiji?

The honest answer is that the reliable, affordable palette is tropical: heliconia, ginger, anthurium, orchids, frangipani, palm and monstera foliage. These are grown in-country, they hold up in heat, and they are what every florist above works with daily.

Temperate flowers — peonies, garden roses, ranunculus, hydrangea — are imported, and no Fiji florist we found publishes a guaranteed supply or a price for them. If a temperate flower is non-negotiable for you, put it in the first email, not the fourth, and ask the florist to confirm in writing whether they can source it, at what cost, and what happens if the shipment does not arrive.

Heat is the other constraint nobody warns you about. A bouquet built at 8am in Nadi for a 4pm beach ceremony has to survive eight hours in tropical humidity, a coach transfer and possibly a boat. Ask what conditioning and cold storage the florist has. It is a fair question and a good florist enjoys answering it.

How do island and resort venues change the brief?

Two ways, and both cost money.

The boat leg. Flowers for a Mamanuca wedding cross open water. The Port Denarau to South Sea Island crossing is published at roughly 45 minutes, and Malamala at 30 minutes; anything further out is longer. Salt spray, wind and a hot deck are a floral design problem, and delivery has to sequence with a vessel timetable you do not control. Expect a travel or freight charge, and expect the florist to build differently.

Resort exclusivity. Some resorts restrict outside vendors. Crowne Plaza Fiji Nadi Bay publishes the clearest policy of any Fiji resort we have found: couples may arrange their own photographers, videographers and celebrants, "though these require advance approval from the resort", while "All food and beverages must be supplied by the resort; outside alcohol requires prior written approval." Mana Island Resort & Spa publishes a private venue setup charge from F$500 and exclusive restaurant use at F$2,500 including taxes, and a full cancellation charge "for cancellations of any services, flower orders, or cakes made 14 days or less prior to the wedding date".

Most resorts publish nothing on outside vendors at all. That silence is not permission. Ask before you contract a florist, and get the answer in an email.

What should a Fiji florist brief contain?

Send all of this in one message. It is the difference between a quote in three days and a fortnight of back-and-forth across a time zone.

  1. Date, venue and exact ceremony location — beach, chapel, lawn — plus reception location if different.
  2. Ceremony time. This drives build time and conditioning.
  3. Guest count and table plan. Ten rounds of eight is a different order to one long table of eighty.
  4. The itemised list: bouquets, buttonholes, arch or arbour, aisle, signing table, cake flowers, table centres, hair flowers.
  5. Palette and two or three reference images — and say plainly which elements are must-have and which are nice-to-have.
  6. Whether the resort requires in-house supply, and the name of your resort contact.
  7. Who receives the delivery on the day, and where.
  8. Your currency. Ask to be quoted in FJD. Converting at your own bank's rate on the day is cleaner than accepting a converted figure.

Then ask three closing questions: what is the travel or delivery fee to this venue; what happens if a stem cannot be sourced; and what is the cancellation window. Mana's published 14-day cancellation charge on flower orders is a reminder that these windows are real.

Which should you book?

If your wedding is at a Nadi, Denarau or Momi Bay resort, brief a Nadi-based florist or stylist — the travel leg is shortest and they work those venues constantly. For the Coral Coast, Nadi and Lautoka are both plausible; ask each for the travel fee and let that decide. For Suva and the east, use a Suva business. For the islands, ask your resort first who they already work with, because a supplier who knows the vessel schedule and the resort's load-in rules is worth more than a marginally better portfolio.

If you want one supplier holding flowers and set together, brief a stylist who lists floral design — Fiji Weddings, Grace Creations Fiji and Firefly Flowers Fiji all do. Fewer contracts, one point of failure, and one person to call at 7am on the day.
