Nadi's mainland has one venue built for a large plenary — the Crown Convention Centre at Crowne Plaza Fiji Nadi Bay — and about a dozen smaller rooms, most within ten minutes of the terminal. Everything else caps out near 200 theatre. Here is what each venue publishes, and where those figures contradict each other.

What counts as "Nadi" in this guide?

Denarau Island sits inside the Nadi municipality, but for a planner it is a separate product with its own ballroom stock, causeway traffic and rate card. We handle it in conference venues on Denarau Island. This piece covers the Nadi mainland: the airport strip on Queens Road, Wailoaloa Beach, Nadi Bay, and the two resorts south of town at Sonaisali and Momi Bay.

The distinction matters most on departure day. The airport-strip hotels are a few minutes from check-in. Sonaisali and Momi Bay are not.

The master comparison table

Every figure comes from the venue's own website unless marked otherwise. A dash means it is not published — we have not filled the gap with an estimate.

Which Nadi venue takes the biggest plenary?

Crowne Plaza Fiji Nadi Bay, and nothing else is close. Its own site describes a 493 m² Crown Convention Centre ballroom "seating up to 900 delegates in theatre configuration, or up to 600 guests in banquet setting", divisible into three rooms each with its own AV, plus a pre-function foyer. Across the property it publishes 1,540 m² of meeting space over seven venues.

Two things to check. IHG's own brand page for the same hotel advertises the Crown Convention Centre as "ready to deliver world-class conferences and exhibitions for up to 1400 guests" — 500 more than the property microsite. And both the Convention Centre and the Baravi Ballroom are listed at exactly 493 m², which reads like a copy error on one of them. At 900 theatre, 493 m² gives roughly 0.55 m² per delegate, so ask for a dimensioned floor plan before contracting a plenary above about 600.

Second is the Grand Salon Ballroom at Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay: 355.34 m², a published 5.9 m ceiling, 400 theatre, 300 banquet, 230 classroom. Marriott also publishes a 1,100 m² pre-function area rated to 800, and two outdoor sites — Vonu Beach (3,000 m²) and North Point (2,000 m²), both at 300 banquet and 400 reception.

Third is the Tagimoucia Room at Tanoa International Hotel at "up to 200 guests". For a straight comparison against Suva, Denarau and the Coral Coast, see which Fiji venue is actually the largest.

Where our records and the venues disagree

Publishing both numbers beats picking one. Here is what re-checking every venue this month turned up.

Crowne Plaza. Our record carries a 925 m² Grand Ballroom and an Event Centre 1/2/3 at 448 theatre each. The resort's current site carries neither name nor figure — it lists the Crown Convention Centre (493 m², 900 theatre), Baravi Ballroom (493 m², 525 theatre, 440 banquet), Baravi 1 (332 m², 370), Baravi 2 (165) and two 59 m² Volivoli boardrooms at 24 each. Treat the live site as current, but confirm in writing.

Novotel Nadi. Our record lists the largest room as 260 m² with a banquet capacity of 100. Accor's events listing gives the Vale Ni Sogo covered area as 260 m² with a 10 m ceiling and banquet 700, while the adjacent open-air Vale Ni Sogo entry shows banquet 100 and a note that it "caters for functions up to 700 pax". Banquet 700 inside 260 m² is not coherent; the 700 almost certainly belongs to the open lawn. Novotel Nadi also publishes the strip's most usable breakout set: Orchid 1 (152 m², 150 theatre, 100 classroom), Orchid 2 (127 m², 100 theatre), Orchid 3 (56 m², 25 theatre) and a 24 m² boardroom with daylight.

Tokatoka. No conflict. Warwick's site matches our record exactly — Talei 262 m² at 100 theatre, 100 cocktail, 80 classroom, 60 boardroom; Duavata 122 m² at 70 theatre, 50 classroom, 40 boardroom. Neither publishes a banquet figure. Tokatoka Resort Hotel is the only property describing itself as directly opposite the terminal.

DoubleTree Sonaisali and Fiji Marriott Momi Bay. Our directory holds no function-space capacities for either. The hotels do. DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Fiji publishes a 127 m² Conference Room (100 theatre, 70 banquet, 80 reception, 60 classroom, 50 U-shape), a 78 m² Executive Boardroom at 18, a 32 m² meeting room at 10, and 417 m² of outdoor space rated 150 banquet and 250 reception.

Mercure Nadi. Our record shows a 102 m² Club House at 40 theatre and 30 banquet. Neither the hotel's Accor page nor Accor's events platform publishes any meeting-room detail, so we cannot corroborate it. Ask for the floor plan.

How many breakout rooms can you actually get?

This is where Nadi is thinner than its plenary numbers suggest. Only three venues publish more than one usable breakout. Crowne Plaza offers seven bookable spaces in one compound. Novotel has three Orchid rooms plus a boardroom, with six meeting rooms claimed on Accor's property page. Tanoa International has five spaces, but publishes no square metres, no ceiling heights and no setup-by-setup breakdown — the biggest documentation gap among the larger Nadi venues.

Everyone else is a one-room or two-room proposition. Tokatoka gives you two. Tanoa Skylodge gives you Conference Room A (120 theatre, 80 banquet, 40 U-shape), two small rooms at 25 theatre, and the Garden Court for up to 150 at a cocktail or dinner. Smugglers Cove and Ramada Suites Wailoaloa share one room: Smugglers' own site places its conference space "on level 6 of Ramada Suite overlooking the Nadi international airstrip", and Wyndham rates that room at 60 conference or 150 banquet. Book either expecting one meeting room between them.

Who publishes a wet-weather alternative?

Three do, in a usable form. Novotel Nadi is clearest: the covered Vale Ni Sogo area is described explicitly as the sheltered al fresco alternative, with a 10 m ceiling. Crowne Plaza pairs an oceanfront south lawn with the indoor Convention Centre in the same compound, so the move indoors is a walk, not a transfer. Fiji Marriott Momi Bay has two large outdoor sites and a 1,100 m² pre-function area rated to 800 under cover.

DoubleTree's 417 m² outdoor space has only a 127 m² indoor room behind it, so a 250-person beach reception has no like-for-like fallback on site. Garden of the Sleeping Giant is entirely outdoors — it markets weddings, parties and corporate team bonding, opens 9am to 5pm daily, and publishes no capacity, floor area or wet-weather plan. Build your own contingency, and read wet weather contingency planning for outdoor programmes before you sign.

What does any of it cost?

Not one of the thirteen venues publishes a day delegate rate, a minimum spend or an exclusivity fee. Every one routes you to a proposal form or a sales email. That is the honest state of the market: there is no published price benchmark for a Nadi conference, and anyone quoting one without naming the property is guessing.

Ask for the day delegate rate inclusive of two breaks and lunch, the room-hire waiver threshold, and whether AV is in-house or brought in. Those three answers explain most of the spread between quotes.

Getting delegates there

Only eight of the thirteen publish an airport figure; those are in the table above. Tokatoka, Mercure Nadi, Ramada Suites and Nadi Event Centre publish none — "opposite the airport", "only minutes away" and "just minutes" are the exact phrases used, and we have not converted them into numbers.

Note the step change. Crowne Plaza at Nadi Bay, DoubleTree at Sonaisali and Marriott at Momi Bay sit materially further out than the Queens Road strip, and Sonaisali adds a boat crossing that a wheelchair or a 40-case AV load will feel.

Nadi Event Centre needs its own flag: neither of its domains resolved during our checks, and no capacity, floor area or address detail could be verified from a primary source. Treat it as unspecified until the operator publishes.

Which Nadi venue should you choose?

  • Plenary under 100, breakouts needed — Novotel Nadi: four documented rooms, five minutes from the terminal, daylight in the boardroom.
  • Plenary 100 to 200 — Tanoa International for the Tagimoucia Room and four supporting spaces, or Tokatoka for published square metres you can plan against.
  • 400 or more in one room — Crowne Plaza Fiji Nadi Bay is the only mainland option. Marriott Momi Bay handles 400 theatre but costs 45 minutes each way.
  • A 4am departure — Fiji Gateway (across the road), Tokatoka (opposite), Novotel (2.5 km) or Tanoa International (3.5 km). Never Sonaisali or Momi Bay.
  • Beachfront — Crowne Plaza on Nadi Bay, which puts a convention centre behind the sand; Marriott Momi Bay for the largest published outdoor sites; DoubleTree Sonaisali if the island arrival is the point and your numbers stay under 100.

Next step

Shortlist two venues from the table, then ask each for a dimensioned floor plan, a day delegate rate inclusive of breaks, and their wet-weather clause in writing — the three things none of them publish.
