Fiji's activity market is deep in the west, concentrated around Nadi, Denarau and the Coral Coast, and thin everywhere else. This is the verified operator list from the MICE Fiji directory, grouped by what each one actually runs and where it is based, with the questions that decide whether it can take a group.
Every operator below holds a live listing with a working website. Where group capability or pricing is not published, that is stated rather than estimated. Published rates for many of these operators are collected, with the dates they carried, in partner and accompanying person programmes.
How should a planner read an activity operator's website?
Three things decide whether an operator can carry a conference group, and almost none of them publish all three.
Throughput, not capacity. A zipline with sixteen lines does not take sixty people at once; it takes them in staggered flights across a morning. Ask how many guests per hour, not how many in total.
Minimum numbers and the cancellation window. Several Fiji operators run on a two-guest minimum, which is fine, and a 48-hour cancellation window, which is not when you are holding sixty seats against a session that might run over.
Transfers in or out. This is the single biggest cost variable in a Fiji activity programme. An operator an hour and a half from Denarau who does not include transfers is often more expensive in coach hire than in tickets.
Which operators run river, land and adventure programmes?
| Operator | Base | What it runs | Group notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sigatoka River Safari | Coral Coast | Jetboat up the Sigatoka River, village visit with sevusevu, village lunch | The strongest cultural content in the western market; transfers available from Nadi and Denarau at a higher rate |
| ZIP Fiji | Pacific Harbour and Nadi | Zipline circuits at two separate sites, plus abseiling | Two distinct locations with different line counts; confirm which site your rate applies to |
| Sleeping Giant Zip Line Fiji | Nadi | Ziplines, jungle safari, waterfalls | Closest adventure product to the Nadi and Denarau hotels |
| Rivers Fiji | Pacific Harbour | Upper Navua gorge rafting and kayaking | Publishes multi-day packages in US dollars; day-trip rate on request |
| Ecotrax Fiji | Coral Coast | Pedal-powered rail trolleys on the old cane line | Published height and weight limits and a two-rider minimum; transfers explicitly not included |
| Kila Eco Adventure Park | Pacific Harbour | Ropes course, abseiling, trails | The closest thing to a purpose-built team-building site |
| Off Road Fiji | Coral Coast | Buggy and off-road tours | Rate tables published as images rather than text; get a written quote |
| Talanoa Treks Fiji | Suva-based, highland routes | Guided walks and village-stay treks | Publishes a multi-day highland rate; no half-day figure published |
| Coral Coast Horse Riding | Coral Coast | Beach and trail riding | Low throughput by nature; suits small groups only |
Which operators run marine, cruise and island days?
| Operator | Base | What it runs | Group notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Captain Cook Cruises Fiji | Denarau | Day sails, sunset dinner cruises, multi-night small-ship itineraries | Site appears to localise currency; ask for the FJD figure in writing |
| Blue Lagoon Cruises | Nadi and Denarau | Yasawa cruising | The practical way to reach the Yasawas without a long transfer day |
| Cruisin Fiji | Denarau | Charter and day cruising | Capacity is per vessel; confirm the hull, not the brochure |
| Cloud 9 Fiji | Mamanucas | Floating platform day club | Also holds a venue listing — see Cloud 9 |
| Beqa Adventure Divers | Pacific Harbour | Shark diving in Beqa Lagoon | Certification requirements apply; not a general-group activity |
| Subsurface Fiji | Mamanucas | Diving and snorkelling | Resort-based operation across several Mamanuca properties |
| Big Blue Fiji | Denarau | Diving and watersports | Nearest dive operation to the Denarau hotel cluster |
| Coral Coast Divers | Pacific Harbour | Diving | Serves the Pacific Harbour and Beqa area |
| Taveuni Ocean Sports | Taveuni | Diving in the Somosomo Strait | The only verified dive operator in the directory for the northern islands |
| Purple Turtle Fiji | Mamanucas | Diving and water activities | |
| KaiWai Watersports Fiji | Denarau | Watersports | Activities published, no rates |
| Hydro Sports Fiji | Denarau | Watersports | Activities published, no rates |
Which operators run cultural and food programmes?
| Operator | Base | What it runs |
|---|---|---|
| VOU Fiji | Nadi | Professional dance company with its own venue; dinner-and-show and commissioned performance |
| Fiji Culture Village | Nadi | Cultural programmes and demonstrations |
| Flavours of Fiji Cooking School | Nadi | Hands-on cooking classes; minimum of eight guests for exclusive or Sunday classes |
| Kulawai Productions | Nadi | Production and entertainment services |
Cultural programming is the part of a Fiji programme most often got wrong, and the fix is structural rather than aesthetic: name and pay the performers as suppliers. Booking Fijian performers respectfully sets out how.
Which operators handle touring and sightseeing?
| Operator | Base | What it runs |
|---|---|---|
| Discover Fiji Tours | Pacific Harbour | Day tours including river, waterfall and village itineraries |
| Inland Tours Fiji | Nadi | Interior and highland day touring |
| Land and Sea Tours Fiji | Nadi | Combined land and marine day tours; activities published, no rates |
| Aqua Tours Fiji | Nadi | Sabeto mud pools, Nadi town and valley circuits |
| Adrenalin Fiji | Denarau | Check before using. Its own site states operations closed in the first quarter of 2018; it should not appear in a current programme |
That last row matters more than it looks. Operator names persist in itinerary templates for years after the business stops trading, and an activity that cannot be delivered is worse than one that is merely expensive.
Where is the market thin?
Honestly: everywhere outside the Nadi, Denarau, Coral Coast and Pacific Harbour corridor. The directory holds one verified dive operator for Taveuni and Vanua Levu and effectively no independent land-based activity operators in the Yasawas or the outer islands — in those regions the resort is the operator, and your programme is whatever the property runs in-house.
That is not a criticism of the destinations. It is a planning fact: a Yasawa or Taveuni programme is built with the resort's activities desk, not with a third-party supplier list, and your contingency options narrow accordingly.
What should you ask before you contract one?
Six questions, in writing, every time:
- Guests per hour, not total capacity.
- Minimum numbers, and what happens if you fall below them.
- Cancellation window and weather policy, including who makes the call.
- Whether transfers are included, and from which pick-up points.
- Current public liability cover and any age, height or weight restrictions.
- Whether the published rate includes VAT and the Tourism Services Tax.
The last one catches people out. Fiji's VAT is 12.5% and a 5% Tourism Services Tax applies to qualifying tourism services from larger operators, so whether a quoted figure is gross or net changes a sixty-person programme materially. Ask per supplier rather than assuming a market norm.
So where do you start?
For a mixed-ability group of any size in the west, Sigatoka River Safari for the cultural half and one of the zipline operators for the energetic half. Both are well-established, both publish constraints clearly.
For team building with a brief, Kila Eco Adventure Park, because it is built for it rather than adapted to it.
For a marine centrepiece, a day club or a chartered cruise — and read the capacity note above, because vessel numbers are hard limits.
For anything in the north or the Yasawas, start with the resort, not the directory.
Next step
Price the shortlist against the published rates in partner and accompanying person programmes, check what is actually reachable from your hotel in half-day activity options near each conference precinct, and if you want one party to coordinate all of it, read how to brief a Fiji DMC and get comparable quotes and the DMC and PCO directory. The full supplier set is in the activities and team-building category.
