There is no reliable average cost of a Fiji wedding, and any site quoting one is guessing. What there is, is a method. Five steps, built only from figures Fiji venues and the government actually publish, that turns a guest count and an island into a defensible number you can take to a quote.
Work through it in order. The whole thing takes about twenty minutes.
Step 1: What does the law charge?
This block is fixed, national and published. It does not move with your guest count.

Drop the special licence if you will be in Fiji for the full 21-day notice period, and drop the registrar's fee if a celebrant is officiating. Budget FJ$90 to FJ$145. The gazetted notice dates from 2019 and Fiji's VAT rate has changed twice since, so confirm at the registry.
Step 2: What is the ceremony block?
The ceremony is close to fixed regardless of headcount, which is the whole economics of a Fiji wedding in one line. These are the published ceremony and small-package prices we could verify on the property's own site.

Pick the closest published figure to your island and tier, and use it as the anchor. If your shortlisted property will not publish one, this is the number to ask them to beat or match.
Step 3: What does the reception add per head?
This block scales, and it is where almost all the money lives. Four published per-person rates to build with.

Multiply by your guest count above the package minimum, not by your whole list. Outrigger's Dream Wedding covers 30 guests before the per-head rate starts; Plantation's tiers cover 20 or 30. That threshold is worth more than any discount you will negotiate.

Step 4: What do transfers cost?
Per leg, per person or per vehicle, and easy to underestimate because suppliers travel too.

Count your own legs, your wedding party's, and every supplier's — both directions. A Nadi photographer working IN the Mamanucas is charging a boat fare and a travel day each way. Guests pay their own, and should be told the number early; the Fiji wedding guest cost sheet is written to be forwarded.
Step 5: What does tax add?
Two taxes and one merchant charge, and the position changed this month.

Add 17.5 per cent to every resort line unless the quote states it is already inside. That single question moves a Fiji wedding budget more than any other decision on this page.
A worked example: 40 guests, Coral Coast
Built entirely on Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort's published figures, because it is the only Fiji property publishing a package price, a minimum, a per-head rate and menu upgrades together.

At Reserve Bank of Fiji indicative rates for 11 September 2026 — FJ$1 = NZ$0.7752 = A$0.6278 — that is roughly NZ$11,474 or A$9,293 if the quote is tax-inclusive, and NZ$13,425 or A$10,872 if it is not.
A difference of about NZ$1,950 turns on one sentence in an email. Ask the question.
What this calculator cannot tell you
Five things, and pretending otherwise would make the number worse rather than better.
- Minimum food and beverage spend. Beach and lawn settings at larger resorts often carry one, and it usually appears only in the contract.
- Outside-vendor fees. Some properties charge to admit your own photographer or florist; a few do not permit it.
- Service charge. Resort-set, not a tax, and rarely published.
- Corkage. No Fiji resort publishes a rate. Outrigger prohibits BYO outright.
- Your own flights and accommodation. Personal to your party and your dates.
Add a 10 to 15 per cent contingency on top of your subtotal for those, and treat anything left over as a better honeymoon.
Guideline only. Statutory fees, tax rates and exchange rates change. Confirm marriage fees with the Registrar-General, Ministry of Justice and tax treatment with the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service. Re-convert currency before you commit. Last reviewed 13 September 2026.
The verdict
- Anchor on a published ceremony price, then add per-head lines above the package minimum.
- The package minimum matters more than any discount. Know it before you build the guest list.
- Assume tax is added until a quote says otherwise. It is 17.5 per cent.
- Count supplier transfers, both directions, for every island leg.
- Carry 10 to 15 per cent for the five lines nobody publishes.
