Fiji has at least ten bridal hair and makeup businesses we can independently verify, clustered in three places: Nadi and Denarau, Suva, and Lautoka. Most are mobile and travel to resorts. None publishes a price list, and travel fees to the Coral Coast, the Mamanucas or the outer islands are quoted case by case. Book six months out for a dry-season date.
This is the supplier category that most often gets left until last and most often causes a problem. Here is who actually works in Fiji, where they go, and how to brief them.
Who does bridal hair and makeup in Fiji?
Every business below has a website or an active social presence we have checked. Listing is not endorsement — we have not used any of them — but each one is a real trading business in the area shown.

Three things stand out from that table.
The market is concentrated in the west. Nadi, Denarau and Lautoka account for seven of the ten, and they are the businesses that state coverage beyond their home base. If your wedding is on Denarau, the Coral Coast or in the Mamanucas, you have real choice.
Suva has depth but stays local. The Suva businesses do not publish coverage of the western resorts. That is a working market for a Suva wedding and not much help for a Nadi one.
Nobody covers the outer islands from a base there. There is no verifiable hair and makeup business on Taveuni, in Savusavu, in the Yasawas or on the far islands. Everyone servicing those weddings is travelling — and The Remote Resort on Vanua Levu states plainly that professional hair and makeup services are not available locally.
There are other artists trading in Fiji, particularly through Instagram and TikTok, that we have not been able to verify well enough to list. Their absence here is not a judgement — but see the note on deposits below before you book anyone you found on social media alone.
Who actually travels, and how far?
Totoka Hair & Beauty is the most explicit about it: three salon locations — Narewa Road in Nadi, inside Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort at Sigatoka, and at Plantation Island Resort on Malolo Lailai — plus a mobile team that travels to resorts, villas and venues. Having a chair inside two resorts is unusual in Fiji and it removes the travel question entirely if you are marrying at either.
MMJ Bridal lists Denarau, Nadi and the Coral Coast. Bride & Beauty Fiji lists Nadi, Denarau and the Mamanucas — the only listed business to name the islands.
Beyond that, assume travel is negotiable and billable. A Nadi artist going to the Coral Coast is a 60-90 minute drive each way for a 6am start; to the Mamanucas it is a boat transfer with a fixed schedule that may require an overnight. Ask for the travel fee as a separate line, and ask whether an overnight is required.
What does bridal hair and makeup cost in Fiji?
No Fiji business in this category publishes rates, so we are not going to guess at a number — a made-up figure would be worse than no figure.
What we can tell you is how the quote will be structured, so you can compare like with like:
- Per person, split into hair and makeup. A bride's trial, a bride's day-of, and each bridesmaid or mother are usually separate lines. Ask for all of them.
- A trial, quoted separately. Often at the artist's salon rather than on location.
- Travel. Distance, and an overnight if the start time requires it.
- Early-start surcharge. A 5.30am call for a golden-hour-timed ceremony frequently attracts one.
- Minimum spend. Some artists will not travel to an island for a single face.
Ask for a written quote covering all five. Two artists quoting "from $X" can be several hundred dollars apart once travel and the trial are in.
Before you pay a deposit
This category is almost entirely sole traders and very small businesses, often booked through a Facebook or Instagram message from another country, months ahead, with a bank transfer as the deposit. That combination carries real risk, and Fiji community forums carry occasional complaints about specific suppliers who took deposits and did not deliver.
Three minutes of protection:
- Search the business name alongside "Fiji" and "review" before you pay anything. Community group posts surface quickly.
- Pay by a method with recourse — a credit card, or through a booking platform — rather than a direct transfer to a personal account.
- Keep the agreement in email, with the date, the start time, the number of people and the total.
None of this is unique to Fiji, and the overwhelming majority of artists here are exactly what they appear to be. It costs nothing to check.
Humidity is the whole brief
This is the thing to say in your first message, and most couples do not.
Fiji runs 28-31°C with high humidity, and between December and April the humidity is severe. That is a genuinely different problem from a temperate-climate wedding, and it is what separates an artist who works in Fiji from one who does not.
Tell them, specifically:
- The ceremony time and whether it is outdoors. A 4.30pm beach ceremony in February is the hardest brief in the business.
- Whether there will be swimming, a boat transfer, or a long walk between locations. Spray from a tender ruins a finish.
- Whether you want the look to survive a lovo dinner and dancing, or just the ceremony and photographs.
- Your skin type and how it behaves in heat. Oily skin in Fijian humidity is a different product set.
Then ask them directly what they use for humidity and whether they recommend a different approach for your date. An artist who answers that well is the one to book.
When should you book?
Six months out for a dry-season wedding (June to October), and earlier if your date falls in July or August. The market is small — ten verifiable businesses across a country hosting thousands of weddings a year — and the good ones book out.
If you are marrying at a resort, ask the coordinator who they normally use before you look elsewhere. Resorts have standing relationships, the artist knows the property's power points and bridal prep room, coordination is easier, and the resort carries some accountability for the supplier. Just get the quote independently; "our recommended supplier" is not a price.
Three things to settle in writing
- The trial. When, where, and whether it is charged separately or credited against the day.
- The schedule. Start time, order of people, and how long each takes. Work backwards from the ceremony with a 30-minute buffer.
- The wet-weather and delay plan. If a boat transfer is cancelled, what happens.
Next steps
Start with the Fiji wedding suppliers hub for the full supplier picture, then Fiji wedding florists and stylists and Fiji wedding celebrants and ministers — the other two categories that book out first. If photography timing is driving your schedule, our golden hour table will tell you what time to be ready, and the Fiji wedding style and decor hub covers the look itself.
If you run a hair or makeup business in Fiji and are not listed here, you can claim and manage your listing.
