A vow renewal in Fiji needs no licence, no notice and no registry visit, because it does not create a marriage. That makes the setting a free choice rather than a legal one. Fifteen resorts publish a price, from FJ$1,000 at Mana Island to FJ$4,175 at Royal Davui, and this guide maps the named settings against what each one publishes.
If you want the process rather than the places, start with our companion piece on renewing your vows in Fiji. This article is about where.
Why does the setting matter more for a renewal than a wedding?
Because nothing constrains it. A legal Fiji wedding is shaped by the Marriage Act — a 21-day notice of intention, a certificate for marriage or a special licence, two witnesses, a registered celebrant or marriage officer, and an entry in the register. A renewal engages none of that. Matangi Private Island Resort puts it in writing on its own package page: the ceremony is not legally binding and cannot replace its Island Wedding package.
The practical consequences are real. Likuliku Lagoon Resort and Malolo Island Resort both state that weddings cannot be held on a Sunday but a renewal of vows can, with a celebrant. If your anniversary falls on a Sunday, that single difference decides the shortlist.
Legal position is guideline only — confirm with the Births, Deaths and Marriages Registry, Ministry of Justice, Republic of Fiji. Last reviewed 22 October 2026.
What does a Fiji vow renewal cost, by resort?
These are the figures each resort publishes on its own site or in its own brochure, read on 22 October 2026. Where a resort publishes a currency other than Fijian dollars, we have left it as published rather than converting it.
| Resort | Where | Published price | Validity as published |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mana Island Resort & Spa | IN the Mamanucas | FJ$1,000 incl 12.5% VAT | 2026 edition, through March 2027 |
| Paradise Cove Resort | IN the Yasawas | NZ$1,099 | not stated |
| Treasure Island Resort | IN the Mamanucas | from FJ$1,200 incl 15% tax | page says valid to 31 March 2024 |
| Matangi Private Island Resort | Taveuni | from US$1,200 + 15% tax | page dates read 31 March 2025 |
| Toberua Island Resort | IN Fiji's Outer Islands | NZ$1,495 per couple | not stated |
| Plantation Island Resort | IN the Mamanucas | FJ$1,577 | 1 Apr 2026 – 31 Mar 2028 |
| Yatule Resort & Spa | Natadola | FJ$1,680 (VIP rate) | not stated |
| Malolo Island Resort | IN the Mamanucas | FJ$1,800 incl 17.5% govt taxes | 1 Apr 2026 – 31 Mar 2028 |
| Crusoe's Retreat | ON the Coral Coast | FJ$1,800 | not stated |
| Tropica Island Resort | IN the Mamanucas | FJ$1,899 ("Rediscover Love") | not stated |
| Likuliku Lagoon Resort | IN the Mamanucas | F$1,950 incl 17.5% govt taxes | 1 Apr 2026 – 31 Mar 2028 |
| Fiji Hideaway Resort & Spa | ON the Coral Coast | $1,950 — no currency stated on page | not stated |
| Castaway Island, Fiji | IN the Mamanucas | FJ$2,362.50 / A$1,540.82 | not stated |
| Tokoriki Island Resort | IN the Mamanucas | FJ$2,716 | not stated |
| Royal Davui Island Resort | IN Fiji's Outer Islands | FJ$4,175 | not stated |
| Namale Resort & Spa | Vanua Levu | US$725 / US$1,040 / US$2,085 incl 17.5% govt taxes | wedding packages, usable for a renewal |
Three honest caveats. Treasure Island's page still states its rates are valid for travel until 31 March 2024, and Matangi's validity reads 31 March 2025, so both figures are stale on their face and need confirming. And the tax lines contradict each other: Mana states 12.5% VAT, while Likuliku, Malolo and Namale all state 17.5% government taxes. Fiji's VAT rate has been 12.5% since 1 August 2025, per the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service. We publish both as the resorts publish them and have not reconciled them.
Converted at the Reserve Bank of Fiji's indicative rates for 22 October 2026, FJ$1 was about NZ$0.78 and A$0.63. The Reserve Bank publishes those for indicative purposes only.
Which resorts run the ceremony free?
Two, and only in the wet season. Malolo Island Resort offers a free wedding or renewal of vows ceremony between 1 November and 31 March. Likuliku Lagoon Resort gives the Marau or Renewal of Vows package free with a stay of five nights or more in the same window. Both carry blackout dates and neither combines with another offer. If your anniversary is flexible and you were going to stay five nights anyway, that is the single biggest saving published anywhere in the Fiji renewal market.
What are the twenty settings, and what is each one actually like?
IN the Mamanucas — the deepest choice
- Mana's Seaside Chapel — a built chapel in tropical gardens overlooking the ocean. The enclosed option in a group that is otherwise all open-air.
- Mana's Sunset Beach — carries a published set-up fee of $200 on top of the package.
- Tokoriki's jetty — a narrow, photogenic platform over water; two people and an officiant, not a crowd.
- The deck of your own bure or villa at Tokoriki — the most private setting published by any Fiji resort.
- Tokoriki's chapel.
- The deck of an over-water bure at Likuliku — Likuliku has some of Fiji's only over-water bures, and it offers the deck as a ceremony site.
- Likuliku's horizon-edge pool.
- Castaway's Monkey Rock Beach.
- Castaway's Water's Edge Jetty.
- Castaway's Mokimokiti Cabana — the resort says it suits any weather and converts from ceremony to reception, which makes it the clearest published wet-weather answer in the islands.
- Treasure Island's air-conditioned beachfront chapel — enclosed and cooled, which in February matters more than it sounds.
- Tropica's pier, and 13. Tropica's gardens — adults-only, with exclusive use of the whole resort available for up to 60 people.
ON the Coral Coast and at Natadola
- Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort's Bure Ni Loma chapel, on Lomalagi Hill with Pacific views — the hilltop option, and the resort confirms it does vow renewals.
- Outrigger's Reef Lagoon Lawn, in gardens over an ocean lagoon.
- Fiji Hideaway's Hideaway Point, and 17. its Beachfront Lawn. The resort states it is a 90-minute drive from Nadi.
- Yatule's Dilo Beachfront at Natadola, which the resort puts within an hour of Nadi International Airport.
IN the Yasawas and Fiji's Outer Islands
- Turtle Island's Vonu Point, overlooking the ocean, plus a stained-glass chapel just off the main beach. Turtle publishes no renewal price but does publish a traditional arrival by bilibili raft.
- Namale's blowhole deck overlooking the Koro Sea on Vanua Levu — genuinely unlike anything else on this list, and the resort states any of its wedding packages can be used for a renewal.
Also worth knowing: Toberua offers its saltwater pool and an open-plan bure as well as the beach; The Remote Resort publishes a beachside firepit deck and will move the ceremony to the covered Main Pavilion deck in bad weather; and Nanuku Resort publishes real ceremony capacities — Sunset Deck 60, Kanavata Bar & Lounge 60, Meke Room 30, Tabua Room 30 — along with the only clear transfer statement we found: about 30 minutes by private scenic air transfer, or a 2.5-hour drive, from Nadi.
How should you choose?
Choose Mana if price is the constraint — FJ$1,000 with a chapel on site is the best-value published combination in Fiji. Choose Likuliku or Malolo if you can travel between November and March, because the ceremony is free. Choose Tokoriki if you want it to be only the two of you, on your own deck. Choose Nanuku if family are coming and you need a published capacity and a covered room. Choose Namale or Turtle Island if the setting itself is the point and the price is secondary.
Then do one thing before you book: ask the resort, in writing, for the ceremony-site capacity, the wet-weather alternative, and whether the published price is current. On the evidence above, at least two published prices are more than eighteen months out of date.
Next step: compare the settings resort by resort in the Eloping and Renewing Vows in Fiji hub, read Where to Elope in Fiji: 20 Settings if the ceremony will be legal rather than a renewal, and browse the properties above in the directory — Mana Island Resort & Spa, Likuliku Lagoon Resort, Tokoriki Island Resort, Nanuku Resort and Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort — then enquire through MICE Fiji.
