Eloping in Fiji comes down to three questions, and price is not one of them. How private is the spot actually going to be on the day, how hard is it to reach, and will the light and the background hold up in the only photographs you will have. Below are twenty settings drawn from verified Fiji properties, grouped by how much solitude they genuinely deliver.
A note on what is and is not here. Every property named is a real, trading Fiji venue whose ceremony settings are recorded in our directory. Where a resort publishes an elopement price we give it; most do not, and we say so rather than guess.
What actually makes an elopement setting private?
Three tiers, and the difference between them is large.
Whole-resort buyout is the only arrangement that guarantees nobody else is present. Adults-only island resorts remove children and most of the noise but not other guests. A quiet corner of a large resort gives you a beautiful spot with a public beach thirty metres away. All three can produce a wonderful day; only the first is actually private.
| Privacy tier | What you get | Properties recording it |
|---|---|---|
| Whole-resort buyout | Exclusive use | Toberua, Yasawa Island Resort, Taveuni Palms, The Remote Resort, Tropica, Lomani, Navutu Stars |
| Adults-only island | No children, small guest count | Matangi, Royal Davui, Matamanoa, Tokoriki, Navutu Stars, Emaho Sekawa, Tropica, Lomani |
| Corner of a resort | Setting only | Sheraton Tokoriki, The Pearl, Yatule, Castaway |
The most private: settings 1 to 6
1. A bought-out private island — Toberua Island Resort Beach and garden settings on a small island east of Viti Levu, with private buyout recorded. Access is the easiest of any genuinely remote Fiji island: Toberua publishes a 20-minute vehicle transfer from Suva's Nausori Airport to Anitioki Village Jetty, then a 15-minute boat ride, with transfers running 24 hours and coordinated to flights. That combination — real remoteness, 35 minutes of travel — is unusual.
2. The far north — Yasawa Island Resort Beach ceremonies at the top of the Yasawa chain, with buyout available. Be clear-eyed about the journey: this is the far end of a chain served by one ferry a day, so plan a rest day around it rather than pretending the transfer does not exist.
3. A villa deck — Taveuni Palms Resort Beach, garden and deck settings, buyout recorded, and a two-villa scale that makes exclusivity straightforward rather than exceptional. Good for couples who want the ceremony to happen where they are staying, with no transfer at all on the day.
4. The pier — The Remote Resort Four settings recorded — beach, garden, pier and deck — plus buyout, on Vanua Levu. A pier is the single most useful elopement setting in Fiji for one specific reason: it puts water on both sides of you and holds light after a beach has gone flat.
5. Over water — Savasi Island Resort Beach, garden and over-water settings near Savusavu. Over-water ceremonies are rare in Fiji and this is one of the few properties recording one. The trade-off is honest: you are a domestic flight and a transfer from Nadi, and that is a travel day.
6. Hilltop and over water — Paradise Taveuni Four settings: beach, garden, hilltop and over water. Taveuni is Fiji's third-largest island and a genuine destination in its own right, sitting on the 180th meridian. If you want the elopement to be part of a larger trip rather than a stop, this is where to look.
The best photographic range: settings 7 to 11
If you are bringing a photographer for one day, a property with several distinct settings is worth more than a property with one perfect one.
7 to 11. Five settings in one place — Koro Sun Resort & Rainforest Spa Koro Sun records more ceremony settings than any other property in our directory: rainforest, over-water, poolside, hilltop and beach, with a recorded wedding capacity up to 120. That is five genuinely different backgrounds within one property boundary and no transfers between them — which, given Fiji's 22-minute twilight window, is the difference between three looks and one.
For comparison, most Fiji resorts record one or two settings. A single beach is lovely and gives your photographer exactly one option.
Island beaches with published prices: settings 12 to 16
12. Chapel, beach or your own deck — Tokoriki Island Resort Adults-only, IN the Mamanucas, recording beach, chapel and deck settings, and one of the few Fiji resorts publishing full rates: elopement FJ$3,342, renewal of vows FJ$2,716, with photography at FJ$4,700 and videography at FJ$4,800 as add-ons. Tokoriki's chapel is a handcrafted structure with stained glass and timber pews rather than a marquee. Access is straightforward — a catamaran from Port Denarau, or a 15-minute helicopter, though note the helicopter runs weather and daylight hours permitting.
13. Garden, beach or pier — Tropica Island Resort Adults-only with buyout available, recording garden, beach and pier, and a wedding guest maximum of 60. South Sea Cruises publishes departures from Port Denarau at 9.30am, 12.15pm and 3.15pm, which makes this one of the more forgiving island options for anyone joining you.
14. Just the two of you — Lomani Island Resort & Spa Adults-only, buyout available, beach and garden settings, and the only property in our directory recording a wedding guest minimum of two — which is to say, you. Published: The Lomani Wedding FJ$3,363 and a Vow Renewal at FJ$2,256, valid 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2028, in Fijian dollars including government taxes.
15. Small and quiet — Navutu Stars Fiji IN the Yasawas, adults-only, buyout available, beach ceremonies, and a recorded wedding maximum of 25. A property that caps at 25 is telling you something useful about what the day will feel like.
16. Nothing but beach — Matamanoa Island Resort Adults-only IN the Mamanucas with a single recorded setting: beach. Matamanoa publishes its own transfer detail, including a premium catamaran departing Port Denarau at 9.45am and a speedboat option, with a latest private-transfer arrival of 4.00pm. Read that against sunset before you set a ceremony time.
Distinctive and easier to reach: settings 17 to 20
17. A beach cabana — Castaway Island Resort Beach and cabana settings IN the Mamanucas. Castaway publishes prices in two currencies: a Wedding Ceremony, Castaway Style at AUD 3,301.76 / FJD 5,062.50, and a Vow Renewal at AUD 1,540.82 / FJD 2,362.50. A cabana is a real advantage in the wet season — it is shelter that still looks like a setting.
18. A botanical garden — Garden of the Sleeping Giant The only non-resort setting on this list, and the only garden-only one. Close to Nadi, which makes it the most accessible genuinely distinctive elopement setting in the country — you can land, marry and fly out without a domestic transfer. Elopement and vow renewal are both recorded.
19. Natadola beach and lawn — Yatule Resort & Spa ON the Coral Coast, recording beach and lawn settings, with a recorded wedding maximum of 30. Published: an Elopement Package at F$4,999, a Renewal of Vows at FJD 1,680, and an Intimate Beach Wedding at FJD 2,676. Three nights for the couple are built into the elopement package. Note that despite a directory chapel flag, Yatule's own site describes only beach and lawn ceremony venues — we have flagged that for correction.
20. A private island for the afternoon — Nanuku Resort ON the Coral Coast side at Pacific Harbour, recording private island, beach, lawn and deck settings, with a wedding range of 6 to 120 guests. The private-island setting here is an offshore sandbar-style ceremony spot reached from the resort rather than a resort on its own island — a different proposition, and a good one if you want seclusion for the ceremony and a full resort afterwards.

So which one?
- Absolute privacy matters most: Toberua, for genuine remoteness 35 minutes from an airport, or Taveuni Palms if you want to marry where you sleep.
- The photographs matter most: Koro Sun, for five settings in one property, or The Remote Resort for the pier.
- You want it easy: Garden of the Sleeping Giant near Nadi, or Yatule ON the Coral Coast — no boat, no domestic flight.
- Truly just the two of you: Lomani, which publishes a minimum of two.
- Something nobody else will have: an over-water ceremony at Savasi Island or Paradise Taveuni.
One practical rule wherever you land. Fiji gives you 22 to 24 minutes of usable light after sunset in every month of the year, so ask which direction your setting faces and what time the sun goes down on your date before you confirm anything. A west-facing pier at 5.20pm in June is worth more than the most beautiful chapel at noon.
And remember the witnesses: a legal Fiji marriage needs two, aged 21 or over, with photo identification. Resorts provide them as a matter of course, but ask rather than assume if there will be nobody else present.
Next step
Pick two settings from different privacy tiers and enquire about both — the price gap between a resort corner and a buyout is usually smaller than couples expect at elopement scale. Fiji elopement packages compared puts the published inclusions side by side, and the wedding day run sheet will tell you whether your preferred ceremony time actually works with the transfers.
