The Coral Coast's eating is concentrated in three places: the Korotogo Sunset Strip for seafood and sunset drinks, Sigatoka town for Indo-Fijian curry at a fraction of resort prices, and the Maui Bay–Korolevu stretch for Italian and diner food. The resorts hold the fine dining. Almost nothing here needs more than a phone call.
What follows is organised by what you actually want that evening, with the published hours and phone numbers, because on this coast opening times are the thing that catches people out.
Where is the best seafood on the Coral Coast?
The Sunset Strip at Korotogo, and specifically two places almost opposite each other.
Beach Bar n' Grill is the one to book. Tourism Fiji lists it for seafood and steak — mahimahi, crab and lobster — with cocktails and wine pairings, open for dinner only from 5pm and closed Mondays. It is popular enough that booking ahead is advised. Crab Shack Fiji sits at the end of the same strip, built around chilli and garlic mud crab and a mixed seafood platter, open for lunch and dinner and closed Tuesdays.
One practical note: Tourism Fiji publishes the same phone number, +679 902 5979, for both venues. We have not been able to establish which it belongs to, so when you ring, say which restaurant you want.
Ocean Terrace Restaurant, the dining room at Bedarra Beach Inn on the same strip, is the most useful all-rounder on the coast: open 7am to 10pm with last orders at 9:30pm, spanning international, European, seafood, Indian and South-East Asian cooking, with a weekly lovo dinner and serenaders from 5pm. Reservations are suggested; the number is +679 650 0476.
Where should you eat if you want Fijian or Indo-Fijian food?
Sigatoka town, and it is the best value on the coast by a wide margin.
Raj's Curry House on Main Street is the known quantity — hot, properly spiced Indo-Fijian curries, with guide listings putting mains under FJ$20. At FJ$1.00 = NZ$0.78 / A$0.64 (rate taken 24 October 2026), that is roughly NZ$16 or A$13 for a main course, against resort dinner pricing several times that. Hours are not published, so go at a conventional mealtime.
For a lovo — food cooked in an earth oven — the reliable route is Ocean Terrace's weekly dinner rather than hunting for one independently. For the broader cuisine, Fijian food explained covers kokoda, palusami and rourou and what to order where.
What about the Maui Bay and Korolevu end?
Two very different options, both on the Queens Road.
The Tipsy Italian at Maui Bay does pasta and thin-crust pizza, open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner until 8pm, and 9pm at weekends, on +679 758 6048. It is licensed and runs a Saturday-night happy hour with local music.
Craig's Place Diner, also at Maui Bay and next to a supermarket and service station, is a retro diner doing burgers, wraps and family-sized fish and chips, open daily 9am to 8pm, takeaway on +679 756 6816. It is the best answer on this coast to a carload of hungry people and no plan.
Further west at Cuvu, Flying Fin Restaurant & Bar is listed by Tourism Fiji for butter chicken and a three-tier seafood platter, serving lunch and dinner until 9:30pm, on +679 790 1700. Two warnings. Cards are not accepted — bring Fijian dollars in cash. And Tourism Fiji's own listing says it serves daily but also that it closes Sundays, so ring before you drive. Worth asking about the free shuttle to nearby resorts when you book.
Where do you go for coffee or a daytime stop?
| Venue | Where | Published hours | What it is |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cafe Planet | Queens Road, Korotogo, between the roundabout and the police post | Breakfast and lunch; times not published | Home-roasted specialty coffee, small menu of pies, cookies and cakes. Set up in 2018 by Dutch owner Adriaan Rodenburg |
| Baravi Handicrafts & Cafe | Opposite Vatukarasa Village | Daily 6am–9pm | Handicrafts shop and cafe — pies, wraps, burgers, vegetarian options, coffee and juices. The longest hours on the coast |
| Cuppabula Cafe & Bar | Tappoo City, Sigatoka | Not published | Town cafe, coffee and light meals; the practical option while running errands in Sigatoka |
| Sitar Indian & Thai | At the Ramada, Queens Road roundabout, Korotogo | Breakfast, lunch and dinner; times not published | Indian, Thai and pizza, dine-in or takeaway, with an elevated outlook over the coast |
Baravi's 6am opening makes it the default for an early start, which matters if you are driving to Nadi or heading out on a tour.
Which resort restaurants are worth leaving your hotel for?
Wicked Walu is the one with a genuine sense of occasion. It is Warwick Fiji's seafood restaurant at Korolevu, set on its own small promontory reached by a walkway, serving 6pm to 10pm with a choice of deck or traditional bure seating; guide listings describe it as adults-only. The resort number is +679 653 0555.
Warwick's other outlets are useful to know if you are staying nearby: Bula Brasserie buffet 7am–10pm, Sazanami for Japanese teppanyaki and sushi 6–10pm, Pappagallo for Italian 6–10pm, the Sunset Terrace Bar 7–11pm and the Hibiscus Lounge 5pm–1am.
At Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort in Korotogo, the pick is Ivi for Pacific seafood, Monday to Saturday 6–9pm, smart casual, ages 10 and over. The Sundowner Bar & Grill is the more relaxed choice — beachfront steakhouse and wood-fired pizza, lunch 12–3pm, dinner 6–9:30pm, with pizza and the bar running 12–10pm. Shangri-La Yanuca Island has Golden Cowrie for coastal Italian, where breakfast is adults-only and dinner admits children over 7.
One honest caveat: none of these resorts publishes a policy on non-guest dining. Walk-in access for outside guests is common in practice on this coast but is not guaranteed, so phone the resort rather than turning up.
Where can you drink after dinner?
The options are few and genuinely casual. Koko's Bar on the Korotogo Sunset Strip is the sunset-drinks spot; The Talanoa Bar at Korotogo is an open-air independent bar with regular live music; and Club Tipsy near the Natadola junction is the coast's one dedicated late-night club. Published hours for all three are thin — treat them as evening venues and ask locally.
A note on Vilisite's
Vilisite's Seafood Restaurant at Korolevu appears in a great many older Coral Coast guides, and people still arrive looking for it. We cannot confirm it is trading. It is absent from Tourism Fiji's current Coral Coast dining list and from the main up-to-date guides; a listing at Korolevu carries a 2018 review reporting the restaurant burned down; and Frommer's separately lists a "Vilisite's Seafood Restaurant No. 2" on Queens Road in Sigatoka, west of the river, as open daily 10am–9:30pm on 650 1030. We have left the directory record in place but would not send you there without a phone call first.
The verdict
For one good dinner, book Beach Bar n' Grill, or Wicked Walu if you want the setting and are happy with resort pricing. For value, Raj's Curry House in Sigatoka. For a group with mixed tastes, Ocean Terrace at Bedarra Beach Inn, on the strength of those 7am-to-10pm hours and the breadth of the menu. For families, Craig's Place Diner.
And build the closures into your week: Beach Bar n' Grill shuts Mondays, Crab Shack shuts Tuesdays, and almost everything on this coast stops serving by 9:30 or 10pm.
For larger parties, group dining on the Coral Coast covers who takes 20, 50 or 100. Hours, phone numbers and prices are as published by Tourism Fiji, the venues or their resorts and were checked on 24 October 2026. Small Coral Coast venues change hours seasonally and few maintain websites — phone ahead.
