The island you choose changes a Fiji wedding budget less through the package price than through the transfers. Published ceremony packages run from about FJ$1,550 to FJ$29,347 almost everywhere. Moving 50 guests, though, costs about FJ$1,100 on Denarau Island and about FJ$16,600 in the Mamanucas. That is the real variable.

Below is what each region actually publishes, with the transfer cost folded in, and an honest account of where the disclosure stops.

Which Fiji region publishes its wedding prices?

Only one, really. The Coral Coast is where published pricing lives. Fourteen of the properties we checked there put a number on a page. On Denarau Island, not one resort publishes a wedding package price at all — they publish package names and nothing else.

RegionProperties publishing a package pricePublished range (FJD)
Coral CoastMany850 – 29,347
Denarau IslandNone—
Mamanuca IslandsFewbuyout rates only
Yasawa IslandsOne (buyout)from 30,000 per night
Outer IslandsTwo2,295 – 7,995, plus buyouts

So if you want to compare prices before you enquire, you are comparing the Coral Coast against itself. Read what a Fiji wedding actually costs for the market-wide picture and every line item for the structure beneath it.

All figures below are the properties' own published prices in FJD, observed 3 October 2026. Guest caps are the package caps, not venue capacities.

InterContinental FijiYalayala27,390 – 29,347up to 50

Two notes. InterContinental's ranges are seasonal — the same package is FJ$17,608 in the January-to-March and October-to-December windows and FJ$19,564 in the April-to-July and July-to-September windows, which is a FJ$1,956 swing for identical inclusions. And de Vos – The Private Residence prices in AUD, not FJD: AUD 5,000 to AUD 12,500 across three tiers, with AUD 105 to AUD 200 per additional guest. It is a Fiji property quoting Australian dollars, and it publishes two unexplained price points per package.

Extra-guest pricing varies more than the headline numbers do: Outrigger charges FJ$180 per additional guest, InterContinental FJ$353 to FJ$422.

What does a wedding cost on Denarau Island?

Nobody will say, and that is the finding. Sheraton Fiji, The Westin, Hilton Fiji, Radisson Blu, Sofitel Fiji, Club Wyndham Denarau Island and The Terraces Fiji between them publish at least seventeen named wedding packages and not one price.

What they do publish is useful anyway, because it bounds the size of your wedding:

  • Hilton Fiji: "a maximum of 100 guests comfortably in our ballroom"
  • Radisson Blu: Ocean Deck up to 60, Ballroom up to 100 — and it is the only property in either region publishing an explicit wet-weather backup
  • The Terraces Fiji: "intimate weddings with a maximum of 30pax"
  • Sheraton Fiji: a fully air-conditioned wedding chapel at Sandy Point, capacity not published

Several bundle accommodation nights instead of quoting a fee — Radisson includes three nights in all three packages; Sofitel's packages include two to four nights. That makes Denarau look cheaper or dearer depending entirely on what you were going to spend on rooms anyway. The full Denarau picture is in wedding venues on Denarau Island.

What do island weddings cost in the Mamanucas, Yasawas and Outer Islands?

Island properties mostly sell exclusivity rather than packages, and the numbers change character completely.

How much do the transfers actually add?

This is where the island choice earns or costs you real money. All fares below are published one-way figures per person unless marked otherwise, observed 3 October 2026. Fuel surcharges apply on most marine services and are charged separately.

The arithmetic is blunt. A 50-guest wedding in the Mamanucas carries roughly FJ$16,600 to FJ$30,500 of boat before anyone has eaten anything. The same wedding on Denarau Island carries about FJ$1,100 of coach. On the Coral Coast, around FJ$3,400 of van. That gap — up to FJ$29,000 — dwarfs the difference between almost any two ceremony packages in the country.

Which is why island weddings tend to be small and mainland weddings tend to be large, and why the honest advice is to pick your guest list first and your island second. Private water taxis such as SeaFiji and Mamanuca Express price per boat rather than per head, which flips the arithmetic for small groups. Ferry timing adds its own constraint: see the Mamanuca and Yasawa ferry timetable problem.

What tax goes on top?

Two things, and one of them is new. As at October 2026:

  • VAT: 12.5%, reduced from 15% on 1 August 2025.
  • Tourism Services Tax: 5%, introduced on 1 September 2026, applying to hotels and tour operators with annual turnover above FJ$2 million. The Ministry of Finance describes it as temporary, running 12 months.
  • Service Turnover Tax: nil. Removed on 1 August 2020.
  • Environment and Climate Adaptation Levy: nil on prescribed services such as hotels and restaurants. Repealed from 1 April 2022.

A Fijian accountant writing in the Fiji Sun puts the combined load on qualifying tourism transactions at 17.5%. Whether the Tourism Services Tax sits inside the VAT base — which would make it 18.125% — is not addressed by any Fiji Revenue & Customs Service guidance we could find, so treat 17.5% as the working figure and ask your venue to show the arithmetic on a quote.

One useful consequence: a venue or supplier turning over less than FJ$2 million a year carries VAT only, at 12.5%. Smaller Coral Coast properties, independent celebrants, local florists and local caterers often sit below that line.

Separately, departure tax is FJ$200 per departing passenger and is included in airfares.

What are the figures in your currency?

Reserve Bank of Fiji rates dated 2 October 2026: FJ$1 = NZ$0.7867, A$0.6364, US$0.4412. Inverted, that is roughly NZ$1 to FJ$1.27, A$1 to FJ$1.57 and US$1 to FJ$2.27. Those are the official daily rates, not the rate your card will give you — see paying for a Fiji wedding.

Choose on this basis

  • Fewest guests, most privacy, highest cost per head: Outer Islands or the Yasawas. Buyouts, charter flights, caps of 12 to 38.
  • Islands with 20 to 60 guests: the Mamanucas, if you accept FJ$166 to FJ$305 per person each way.
  • 30 to 100 guests at the lowest total cost: the Coral Coast. Published prices, FJ$3,400 of transfers for 50 people, and a genuine choice of chapels.
  • Large guest lists and short transfers: Denarau Island — but you will be quoting blind, so get three written proposals before you commit.
