We checked the wedding pages of 15 Fiji resorts in October 2026. Not one publishes a free or complimentary wedding package. Every verifiable offer is paid, from around FJ$1,550 for a two-person elopement to FJ$55,271 for a 70-guest package. The "free Fiji wedding" is a sales conversation, not a published product.

That matters, because the phrase is everywhere in destination-wedding marketing. So rather than decode an offer that does not exist in print, this piece does something more useful: it sets out exactly what Fiji resorts do publish — the night minimums, the guest caps, the per-head overages and the blackout dates — so you can see what you are actually buying.

Is there such a thing as a free wedding package in Fiji?

Not on any resort's own website. Across Sheraton Fiji, The Westin Denarau, Fiji Marriott Momi Bay, Outrigger Fiji, Shangri-La Yanuca Island, Warwick Fiji, The Naviti, Fiji Hideaway, InterContinental Fiji, Radisson Blu Denarau, Hilton Fiji, DoubleTree Sonaisali, Crowne Plaza Fiji Nadi Bay, Yatule and Likuri Island, the word "complimentary" appears only against individual components inside paid packages — a kava ceremony for the couple, a buggy for photographs, a bottle of sparkling wine, an anniversary return night.

Where a free ceremony is genuinely offered, it is usually one of two things. Either it is a conditional inclusion inside a larger accommodation booking that a resort negotiates privately rather than publishing, or it is a third-party package built by a travel agent or wholesaler who has bought the components. Neither is the resort's published product, and neither is something you can hold a resort to from its website.

The honest planning position: budget for a paid package, and treat any "free wedding" offer as something to get in writing with its conditions attached.

What do Fiji resorts actually publish?

Only 6 of the 15 resorts we checked publish any price at all. The rest gate everything behind an enquiry form. Here is what is on the record, in FJD as published by each resort in October 2026. We have not converted these to NZD or AUD, because the rate moves daily and a stale conversion is worse than none — convert at the rate on the day you sign.

Publishing nothing: Sheraton Fiji, The Westin Denarau, Shangri-La Yanuca Island, Warwick Fiji, The Naviti, Radisson Blu Denarau, Hilton Fiji, DoubleTree Sonaisali, Crowne Plaza Fiji Nadi Bay and Wellesley Resort. Mango Bay Resort has no wedding page on its site at all. If you want a figure from those properties, you have to ask.

How many nights must you book?

This is the condition that does the heavy lifting. A wedding "package" at a Fiji resort is nearly always tied to a minimum stay in a named, non-base room category — not the cheapest room on the rate card.

ResortMinimum nightsRoom category required
Sheraton Fiji (Love Is In The Air, Fairytale)2 + a 2-night honeymoon stayOcean View Guest Room
Sheraton Fiji (Paradise)4 + a 2-night honeymoon stayOcean View Guest Room with breakfast
Fiji Marriott Momi Bay (Dreamy)2Deluxe Lagoon View
Fiji Marriott Momi Bay (Tropical)3Duplex Lagoon Bure
Fiji Marriott Momi Bay (Grand)3Overwater Bure
Radisson Blu Denarau (all three tiers)3Lagoon-view room
Crowne Plaza Fiji Nadi Bay (Intimate)3Pool View Room
Crowne Plaza Fiji Nadi Bay (Dream)4Ocean View Room
Outrigger Fiji (Intimate, Dream)4Ocean View Room
Yatule Resort & Spa (Elopement)3Ocean View Bure
Yatule Resort & Spa (All Inclusive)3Beachfront Bure

Three or four nights in an upgraded room is the norm, and the requirement scales with the price tier. Fiji Hideaway adds a different kind of condition: for its Paradise Wedding, "all guests must be staying at the Fiji Hideaway Resort & Spa for this offer to be valid" — a stay condition applied to the whole guest list, not just the couple.

Is the marriage licence included or not?

Here the conventional wisdom is wrong, and it is worth saying plainly.

The widely repeated claim is that resort packages exclude the statutory marriage fees. On the published evidence, the opposite is true. The licence and certificate are explicitly included at Outrigger Fiji, InterContinental Fiji, Radisson Blu Denarau ("marriage license, certificate, and postage"), Crowne Plaza Fiji Nadi Bay, Yatule and Fiji Hideaway. No resort we checked publishes a statement that the licence fee is excluded.

For scale, the statutory fees are small either way. The Fiji Ministry of Justice fee schedule effective 1 August 2025 sets the Notice of Intention to Marry at FJ$16.88 and a marriage certificate at FJ$16.88, both VAT-inclusive, with a Special Licence to waive the 21-day notice period at FJ$56.25. Those are the amounts in question — a rounding error against a FJ$11,500 package, and not the thing to negotiate over.

This is a guideline only — confirm current fees and requirements with the Fiji Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages (Ministry of Justice).

What is usually left out?

Photography. This is the most consistent gap. It is not listed in any Outrigger package, nor in any of InterContinental Fiji's three full packages, nor in Fiji Hideaway's or Yatule's inclusion lists. InterContinental sells it separately at FJ$1,590 for one hour or FJ$2,152 for two. The only package we found with photography explicitly included is Fiji Marriott Momi Bay's Elopement, at one hour. If photography matters to you, price it as a separate line from the start — our Fiji wedding photographers directory and what a Fiji wedding photographer costs cover the market.

Reception food and beverage beyond the included headcount. The per-head overages above are the stated ones; InterContinental's à la carte reception pricing gives a sense of the real numbers, with buffets at FJ$137–196 per person, set menus at FJ$181–215, beverage packages at FJ$68–165, a four-hour DJ at FJ$3,546 and a live band at FJ$5,870.

Entertainment and cultural performance, usually priced separately. InterContinental publishes a Polynesian fire show at FJ$1,712 and meke at FJ$1,957. Book performers properly and pay them properly — see booking Fijian performers respectfully.

What about blackout dates?

Only 2 of the 15 resorts publish any. That absence is itself worth knowing about, because several of the others clearly price seasonally without saying when.

Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort blacks out 24, 25, 26, 30 and 31 December and 1 January across every package, with current packages valid until 31 March 2027.

InterContinental Fiji publishes a full season calendar: low season 9 January–31 March 2026, 10 October–22 December 2026 and 5 January–31 March 2027; high season 18 April–3 July 2026 and 18 July–25 September 2026; and blackouts around 4–17 July, 26 September–9 October and 23 December–4 January. The gap between its low and high season pricing is roughly FJ$2,000–3,000 per package.

Everyone else: nothing published. Ask for the blackout calendar in writing before you commit to a date.

The verdict

If you came looking for a free Fiji wedding, the realistic read is this. The cheapest genuinely published route to a legal Fiji wedding is a two-person elopement package in the FJ$1,550–5,000 band, at properties like Likuri Island Resort or Yatule Resort & Spa, with the statutory fees usually inside it.

For 30 guests, the published range runs from about FJ$8,870 at Fiji Hideaway Resort & Spa on the Coral Coast to FJ$19,564 at InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa — a two-fold spread for a comparable guest count, which is the single best argument for getting more than one quote.

And if a resort quotes you a free wedding, ask three questions: how many nights, in which room category, and what happens to the price if a guest cancels. The answers are where the money is.

Start with what the venues can actually seat — the Fiji wedding venue capacity chart and the full Fiji wedding cost breakdown — then come back to packages with a number in mind.
