Fiji has around twenty established wedding photographers and videographers working across the islands, most of them based in Nadi or Suva and travelling to wherever the ceremony is. Almost none of them publishes a price. This directory lists who they are, where they work, what they shoot, and — since the rate cards do not exist — exactly what to ask instead.

That last part is the useful bit. Every other Fiji supplier list stops at a name and a link.

Who shoots weddings in Fiji, and where?

Fiji's photographic trade clusters in two places. Nadi is the wedding capital because Denarau, the Mamanucas and the Coral Coast are all within reach of it. Suva has a second, smaller cluster serving the capital and the east. The north — Savusavu, Taveuni, Labasa — has a handful of specialists, and they matter disproportionately because flying someone up there is expensive.

What does wedding photography cost in Fiji?

Here is the honest answer: almost nobody publishes it. Of the twenty-plus studios above, none publishes a rate card, a package price, a travel fee or a half-day rate on its own website. That is not evasiveness — it is how the market works, and it is consistent across Fiji's wedding trade.

The one published benchmark we could find comes from a resort rather than a photographer. Tokoriki Island Resort publishes, as an add-on to its wedding packages, FJ$4,700 for photography and FJ$4,800 for videography, with hair and makeup at FJ$850. That is a resort-arranged rate on a Mamanuca island, so it carries the island's cost structure inside it — but it is a real published figure and a reasonable anchor for what a full-coverage island wedding shoot costs.

What drives the number is straightforward even when the number is not published:

  • Hours of coverage. Preparations through to reception is a very different day from ceremony-plus-portraits.
  • Second shooter. One camera cannot be at both preparations at once.
  • Island versus mainland. A Nadi photographer shooting the Coral Coast drives home. A Mamanuca or Yasawa wedding means a boat, and often a room. Plantation Island Resort publishes FJ$350 per person for an outside photographer staying for extended coverage.
  • Film as well as stills. Several studios do both, which is cheaper than two suppliers and means one team owning the run sheet.
  • Deliverables. Edited gallery, printed album, drone footage, same-day edit — each is a separate decision.

How do you brief a Fiji photographer?

Send one email with six things in it. This is the brief that gets you a comparable quote from three studios instead of three incomparable ones.

  1. Date, venue and ceremony start time. Name the exact location — "Water's Edge Jetty", not "the beach".
  2. Sunset time for your month, and the ceremony time you have set against it. Fiji's evening golden light is only 27 to 30 minutes long, every month of the year. A local photographer knows this; saying it up front tells them you do too. Our month-by-month golden hour table has the figures.
  3. Coverage window. From what time to what time, and whether preparations are included.
  4. Guest count and shape of day. Twelve people on a jetty and ninety on a lawn are different shoots.
  5. Anything cultural. A meke, warrior escort, choir or lovo needs to be in the brief, because it changes positioning and timing — and because performers should be credited and paid, not treated as background. Fijian warriors, meke and choirs covers doing that properly.
  6. What you want at the end. Number of edited images, whether you want an album, whether you want film, and whether drone matters — drone rules at Fiji weddings are a separate question with a separate answer.

Then ask four questions, and get the answers in writing:

  • What is included, and what is an extra?
  • Is there a travel or accommodation charge for this venue?
  • Do you bring a second shooter, and at what cost?
  • What is the deposit, the balance date, and the card surcharge?

That last one matters more in Fiji than most places: card surcharging is legal and uncapped, and published rates from Fijian tourism operators sit around 2.5 to 3 per cent.

Which one should you choose?

If the wedding is on a Mamanuca or Yasawa island: pick a Nadi studio that publishes island experience. Ocean Studio Fiji, Nadi Bay Photography, Silvestre Weddings and Lia and Stu Photography all list island resort portfolios.

If it is on the Coral Coast: Kirsten Satz Photography is based there, which removes travel and accommodation from the conversation entirely.

If it is in Savusavu, Taveuni or Labasa: Melonie Ryan and Fiji Wedding Studios are the northern specialists, and using them instead of flying someone up is the single biggest saving available in that region.

If you want understated, editorial, documentary work: Eterna Weddings and Silvestre Weddings.

If you want underwater or drone as part of the day: Lia and Stu Photography and Anais Photography.

If it is a Hindu, Sikh or Chinese ceremony: Tokman Images publishes experience across cultural ceremonies as well as Western weddings. Indo-Fijian Hindu weddings in Fiji covers the wider picture.

If you want photo and film from one team: Rolling Moments Fiji, Zoom Fiji Photography, Anish Karan Photography and RaNi all do both.
