Two hotels sit directly opposite Nadi International Airport — Tokatoka Resort Hotel and Fiji Gateway Hotel, both on the Queens Road. Novotel Nadi is about 2.5 kilometres away on Namaka Hill and Tanoa International about 3.5 kilometres. For a late arrival or a pre-dawn departure, that distance matters more than any facility on the list.

Nadi has an unusually good spread of airport accommodation for a destination its size, because almost every visitor to Fiji passes through the terminal and a great many of them need one night at either end. Below is the comparison, then the decision.

Distances and drive times are as each property states them, and they assume normal traffic. The Queens Road corridor between the airport and Nadi town tightens when several wide-body flights land together, so treat a five-minute figure as five minutes at 10am and rather more at 6pm.

Which is right for a late arrival?

If your flight lands after 10pm, the only thing that matters is how far you have to travel with luggage and a tired group. Stay opposite the terminal. Tokatoka and Fiji Gateway remove the transfer entirely, and Fiji Gateway publishes a complimentary shuttle for guests.

Two questions to ask when you book, because neither is usually published:

  1. Does the shuttle run at your arrival hour? A hotel that lists an airport shuttle does not necessarily run it at 1am.
  2. Is reception staffed overnight, and is the kitchen? Arriving at 11.30pm to a closed kitchen is a small thing that feels large.

For anything less certain, pre-book a transfer with a named meet point. Airport Shuttle Fiji and Tourist Transport Fiji both operate 24 hours from the terminal, Fiji VIP Transfers runs private vehicles and a 37-seat coach, and TEWAKA Fiji maintains a meet-and-greet arrivals lounge at the airport. Our full breakdown of every Nadi Airport transfer option and time has the comparison.

Which is right for an early departure?

Same answer, more emphatically. A 6am international departure means a 4am check-in, which means a 3.30am transfer from Denarau and a 3.45am alarm from Wailoaloa. From Tokatoka or Fiji Gateway it means walking out of the door.

If the group needs a working session the evening before, Novotel Nadi is the compromise worth paying for: six meeting rooms, the largest around 260m², 127 rooms and about five minutes to the terminal. Tanoa International Hotel does the same job at 3.5 kilometres with five function spaces, a convention centre and an on-site kitchen, with the Tagimoucia Room seating around 200.

Which is right if you want a beach?

Wailoaloa, about fifteen minutes out. Crowne Plaza Fiji Nadi Bay Resort & Spa is the five-star option with 324 rooms and the largest conference capability near the airport. Smugglers Cove Beach Resort is the 22-room, three-star alternative directly on the sand with nightly Fijian and Polynesian entertainment and its own airport shuttle. Ramada Suites by Wyndham Wailoaloa Beach sits between them with suites, a rooftop outlet and a sunset deck.

Fifteen minutes is the shortest route from the terminal to a real beach in Fiji, and the Wailoaloa strip brings beachfront dining and bars with it.

Which is right for a longer stay or a family?

Tokatoka Resort Hotel for families — self-contained villas and a freshwater pool with waterslides, which earns its keep on a stopover with children. Hexagon International Hotel for anyone needing a kitchen, with one, two and three-bedroom apartments, three pools and a spa about five minutes from both the airport and the town. Mercure Nadi for a quieter garden setting, with 85 rooms across about five acres, the Senikai Spa and a tennis court.

The decision, in one line each

  • Landing late or leaving early: Tokatoka or Fiji Gateway, opposite the terminal.
  • Meeting on the same stay: Novotel Nadi, or Tanoa International for larger numbers.
  • Want sand: Crowne Plaza Fiji Nadi Bay, Smugglers Cove or Ramada Suites at Wailoaloa.
  • Travelling with family or self-catering: Tokatoka or Hexagon International.
  • Watching the budget with a function to run: Tanoa Skylodge.

Next step

Book the hotel against your actual flight time, not your preference — and confirm the shuttle's operating hours in the same message. Our planner's guide to Nadi International Airport covers the terminal itself, where to stay by purpose widens the comparison, and the where-to-stay hub sets Nadi against the rest of Fiji. All eleven properties are listed in the Nadi directory.

Distances, room counts and facilities as published by each property and reviewed 18 October 2026. Shuttle availability and overnight staffing change — confirm with the hotel.
