At three Fiji budgets you are buying three different events, not three grades of the same one. FJ$10,000 buys a beautifully run ceremony for two to a handful. FJ$25,000 buys a proper wedding for 20 to 30. FJ$60,000 buys an island, a band and up to 100 people. The costing below uses published prices where they exist and names every line where they do not.

All conversions are at the 1 October 2026 mid-market rate of approximately FJ$1 = NZ$0.78 / A$0.64. Rates move; the date matters.

FJ$10,000: what the published elopement packages include

This is the tier where Fiji is genuinely, verifiably cheap, because it is the tier resorts publish.

VenuePackagePublished priceNotable inclusions
Tropica Island ResortEscape to ParadiseFJ$2,999Celebrant, arch and set-up, registry assistance in Nadi with private car, Fijian marriage licence and certificate, warrior escort, serenader, bouquet and buttonhole, Moet, breakfast in bed, private pier dinner, couples massage
Mango Bay ResortMango DelightFJ$3,200Transport to Sigatoka for the licence, minister or celebrant, decorated beachfront setting with flower arch, couples massage, bouquet, Fijian village choir, warrior escort, single-tier cake, bridal toast
The Remote ResortThe Remote Fiji WeddingUSD$875 / AUD$1,155 (stated to include Fiji government taxes of 25%)Coordinator, licence pre-approval liaison, flowers, two warrior escorts and two witnesses, minister, serenaders, sparkling wine and canapes, boat access for photos, single-tier cake
Daku Resort, SavusavuWedding Packagefrom USD$530Marriage licence with registry transfers, coordinator, celebrant, bouquet and tiara, buttonhole, flower arrangements, two-tier cake

Two things to notice. First, these packages carry the legal work - Tropica's includes the licence and certificate, The Remote Resort's includes licence pre-approval liaison, Daku's includes the licence and the registry transfers. That is real value, because the Fijian process requires both of you to lodge a FJ$15 notice of intention in person and then wait 21 consecutive days, which no holiday accommodates. Visiting couples apply for a special licence to waive it, and a resort that does this weekly will do it faster than you will.

Second, Daku and The Remote Resort price in US dollars. That is an exchange-rate exposure you carry from deposit to final payment, and it is not a detail - see paying for a Fiji wedding.

Building the FJ$10,000 tier

Ceremony package FJ$2,999-3,200. Notice of intention FJ$15. Return catamaran transfers for two to an island resort: at Malolo's published FJ$166 per adult each way plus FJ$10 fuel surcharge per sector, that is FJ$704 for a couple return. Five to seven nights of accommodation is the remaining variable, and it is the one no resort publishes as a wedding line.

On published figures you are at roughly FJ$3,900 before a single night's accommodation. Which is why FJ$10,000 comfortably covers a couple, and starts to strain at ten guests the moment you want to feed them a sit-down dinner.

FJ$25,000: where the money stops being published

At 20 to 30 guests the ceremony package stops dominating the budget and catering takes over. This is also where the published trail runs out.

The lines you will be quoted rather than shown:

  • Catering per head, for a welcome event, the reception and often a farewell brunch
  • Beverage, either a package per head per hour or on consumption
  • Styling and hire beyond the package arch - chairs, linen, lighting, florals
  • Photography, typically a day rate plus travel if the shooter is not on the island
  • Entertainment, where Daku's published add-on list is the most useful public benchmark available: village choir USD$145, meke USD$165, warrior escort USD$85, serenaders USD$75, DJ USD$240, traditional Fijian attire hire USD$195, additional cake tiers USD$30 each
  • Guest transfers, which multiply fast - 25 guests return on the Malolo catamaran at published fares is around FJ$8,800 before anyone upgrades

That transfer figure is the one that surprises people, and it is why an island wedding at 25 guests can cost more in logistics than a Coral Coast wedding costs in catering. Uprising Beach Resort at Pacific Harbour publishes three tiers - Wasawasa Classic, capped at 20 guests, then Baravi and Nukuvula Premier, which adds warriors, a private sunset three-course dinner, two hours of acoustic performers and two nights' villa accommodation - but not the prices, which is typical.

What FJ$25,000 realistically delivers

A mainland or short-transfer resort, a ceremony in one setting with a genuine wet-weather alternative, a plated or buffet reception for 25 to 30, a full-day photographer, styling beyond the standard arch, and the cultural elements booked and paid properly rather than treated as resort decoration. It does not stretch to a charter boat, a buyout, or a band for four hours.

FJ$60,000: what the top tier is actually buying

Control. At this level you are usually paying for exclusivity and for logistics, not for a better ceremony.

Musket Cove Island Resort & Marina is the clearest illustration in the directory: its Island Chapel seats 80 for a ceremony and its Coral Cay Island takes 100, with 55 rooms on site. Tropica takes up to 60 guests on a full resort charter with 24 rooms. Those numbers are what the money unlocks - a venue that holds your whole group and an island you are not sharing.

The lines that appear only at this tier:

  • Minimum spend or buyout, quoted as a figure or as a number of room-nights
  • Charter transfers: a private Sea Fiji water taxi for up to four is FJ$1,273 one way, and an Island Hoppers helicopter is FJ$895 per person one way, FJ$1,630 return, plus a FJ$25 fuel surcharge each way, daylight only and weather dependent
  • Marquee or structure hire for wet weather at scale
  • Band rather than DJ, plus a sound system that covers an outdoor reception
  • A second photographer and a videographer
  • A planner's fee, which at 100 guests across an island is money well spent

The honest trade is this: at FJ$60,000 across 100 guests you are spending about FJ$600 a head, which is less per person than many city weddings - but you are also asking 100 people to buy international flights. How many guests actually come is the number to settle before you book for 100.

Which tier should you choose?

Choose FJ$10,000 if the guest list is the two of you plus parents and siblings, and you would rather spend the difference on a longer honeymoon. The published packages are good, and they include the legal work.

Choose FJ$25,000 if you want a real reception for the people who matter most and are willing to accept one ceremony setting and a shared resort. This is where most Fiji weddings land, and it is the best value tier.

Choose FJ$60,000 if the point is the week rather than the day - a group of 60 to 100 on an island together, with the resort largely yours. If your guest list cannot realistically travel, this tier buys an empty island.

What to do before you commit

Ask every venue for five figures in writing: catering per head, beverage per head, whether the quote includes Fiji government taxes, the wet-weather alternative and what it costs, and the outside-vendor policy. The Remote Resort's published note that its price includes 25 per cent in Fiji government taxes is the benchmark - a quote that omits tax is not cheaper, it is incomplete. The detail is in VAT, service charge and levies on a Fiji invoice.

Then work line by line through the full cost breakdown, check your number against cost by guest count and where the money goes at 20 versus 100 guests, and read 9 hidden costs of a Fiji wedding before you set the contingency. The hub for all of it is What a Fiji Wedding Actually Costs, and you can shortlist by capacity on the capacity charts.
