Fiji has a genuine adults-only market, concentrated in the Mamanucas and around Savusavu. What it does not have is a common definition of "adults-only". One resort means 16 and over. Another means 12 and over. Several say adults-only and publish no age at all. If a child-free stay is the reason you are booking, that difference is the whole point.

Below is every Fiji property we could verify as adults-only from its own website, with exactly what each one says — and an honest note where a property says nothing.

Which Fiji resorts are adults-only?

All policies below were retrieved from each property's own website on 12 September 2026. Where a resort does not publish a figure, the cell says so rather than guessing.

What "adults-only" actually means here

This is the finding that matters, and no other Fiji listing seems willing to publish it.

Three different thresholds are in play among properties all using the same phrase:

  • 16 and over — Matamanoa and Royal Davui both state this explicitly.
  • 12 and over — Navutu Stars calls itself adults-only, then welcomes children over 11.
  • Unstated — Tokoriki, Likuliku, Lomani, Matangi, Namale and Emaho Sekawa all describe themselves as adults-only without publishing a number anywhere we could find.

If you are booking to avoid small children, any of these will deliver. If you are booking a honeymoon and would rather not share the infinity pool with a fourteen-year-old, the difference between 16 and 12 is real and you should ask.

The reverse case matters too: families travelling with a sixteen-year-old are eligible at more Fiji "adults-only" resorts than they assume.

The one-line email that settles it

"Could you confirm in writing your minimum guest age, whether it applies to day visitors as well as in-house guests, and whether any exception applies for a full-resort buyout?"

Send it to the resort directly rather than trusting a listing site. Third-party pages carry stale policies, and adults-only status is exactly the kind of thing a property changes without updating everyone who once wrote about it.

The properties that are not what the lists say

Two honest corrections, because getting these wrong costs someone a holiday.

Tropica Island Resort in the Mamanucas appears on many adults-only lists. Its own weddings page does not state an age policy, and it explicitly notes that children are permitted on full resort charters, with wedding groups up to 60 people. Treat it as a property to ask rather than assume.

Turtle Island Fiji in the Yasawas accommodates only 14 couples at a time across 14 villas, which produces an adults-only atmosphere in practice. But no children's policy is published on its own site, and "couples-focused" is not the same as "child-free". Ask.

We have also seen Tides Reach Resort on Taveuni described as adults-only. Its own website publishes no age policy at all, so we are not listing it as one.

Which one should you choose?

If you want…Look at
Guaranteed no under-16s, on a short transfer from Denarau IslandMatamanoa — the clearest published policy in the Mamanucas
The largest adults-only property, with room to disappearMatamanoa (47 rooms) or Tokoriki (36 villas, 72 guests)
Over-water buresLikuliku Lagoon Resort
A very small island with plunge-pool villasRoyal Davui — and it publishes its 16-and-over rule
Somewhere genuinely tinyEmaho Sekawa (3 villas) or Navutu Stars (10 bungalows)
Vanua Levu and Savusavu rather than the MamanucasNamale, Emaho Sekawa or Matangi off Taveuni
A property for a small executive retreatMatangi (20 rooms) or Tokoriki (36 villas)

On transfers, the Mamanucas properties are the easy ones — a boat or short seaplane hop from Denarau Island. Navutu Stars in the Yasawas, and the Savusavu and Taveuni properties, involve a domestic flight or a longer boat leg. Fiji's islands and regions sets out what each transfer actually costs in time.

Do adults-only resorts work for events?

For honeymoons, elopements and vow renewals, obviously and well — Fiji honeymoons and eloping and renewing vows in Fiji cover the formats.

For business events, the answer is scale. An adults-only property with 20 to 47 rooms is excellent for a leadership retreat, a board offsite or a top-performer incentive of a dozen couples. It is not a conference venue, and no amount of atmosphere changes that. Check the room count in the table above before the concept sells you.

And if you are considering a full-resort buyout, ask whether the age policy still applies. Several Fiji properties relax it for whole-island charters, which is either exactly what you wanted or exactly what you were trying to avoid.

The verdict

  • Nine Fiji properties describe themselves as adults-only on their own websites.
  • "Adults-only" is not a standard. It means 16 at Matamanoa and Royal Davui, 12 at Navutu Stars, and an unpublished number at six others.
  • Matamanoa and Royal Davui publish the clearest policies. If certainty matters most, start there.
  • Ask in writing, including about day visitors and buyout exceptions.
  • Do not trust third-party adults-only lists — at least two widely-listed Fiji properties do not publish the policy attributed to them.

Next step: pick two properties from the table, send both the one-line email above, and book the one that answers clearly.
