Fiji is genuinely good at family holidays, but the resorts are not equally forthcoming about it. Some publish a kids club with named age brackets, session times and a price. Others list "childcare" as an amenity and nothing else. And two of the country's best-known island resorts will not take your children at all. Here is what each resort actually publishes.
Which Fiji resorts publish a proper kids club?
Every figure below comes from the resort's own website. Where a resort publishes nothing, the table says so — that is a finding, not an omission.
| Resort | Kids club | Ages | Hours | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hilton Fiji Beach Resort & Spa | IKA Kids Club | 4–12 independently; under 3s supervised by a parent | 8am–8pm | Included |
| Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort | Little Riggers / Beach Riggers / Teens | 3–7, 8–12, 13+ | 9am registration, activities to 9pm | "Kids club activities are free to guests" |
| Plantation Island Resort | Coconut Kids Club | 4–12; under 4s with a guardian or babysitter | See note below | Free, some activities extra |
| Malolo Island Resort | Tia's Treehouse / Khail's Club | 4–12 (split 4–8 and 9–12); teens 9–17 | Not published | Complimentary |
| Outrigger Castaway Island | Castaway Kids Club | 3–12 | Not published | Free for ages 3–12 |
| InterContinental Fiji | Planet Trekkers | 4–7 and 8–12 | 9:30–12:30, 2:00–5:00, 6:30–10:30 | FJ$35 per child per session |
| Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa | Niu Beach Club for Kids | 3–12 | 9am–12, 1–4pm, 6–9pm | $30 per session per child |
| Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort | Side by Side Kids Club | Not published | 9:00am–8:00pm | Not published |
| Radisson Blu Denarau | Blu Banana Kids' Club | 4–12 | Not published | Not published |
| Fiji Marriott Momi Bay | Turtle Kids Club | Discovery programs 4–12 | Not published | Mixed — some programmes charged |
| Shangri-La Yanuca Island | Little Chief's Club | Not published | Not published | Not published |
| Fiji Hideaway Resort & Spa | Hermit Crab Kids Club | Not published | Not published | Not published |
| Warwick Fiji | Warwick Kids Club | Not published | Not published | Not published |
| The Naviti Resort | "Children's Facilities" — unnamed | Not published | Not published | Not published |
One conflict worth flagging, because it affects the middle of the day. Plantation Island publishes two different sets of kids club hours on its own site: its kids club page gives 9.00am to 4.30pm and 6.00pm to 9.00pm, while its facilities page gives 9am–12:30pm, 2pm–4:30pm and 6pm–9pm. The second implies a midday closure the first does not. If you are booking a spa treatment for 1pm, confirm which is right.
Four resorts publish no kids club at all: Crowne Plaza Fiji Nadi Bay, The Pearl Resort at Pacific Harbour, Mana Island Resort & Spa, and The Westin Denarau — the last of which Marriott currently publishes as closed. DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Fiji lists "Childcare" as an amenity with no club, ages, hours or rate, though it does publish that children under 12 eat free with certain packages.
What does babysitting cost in Fiji?
This is the number that decides whether you actually get an evening out, and only five resorts publish it.
| Resort | Published babysitting rate |
|---|---|
| Malolo Island Resort | F$12.50 per hour, two children per bure |
| Plantation Island Resort | FJ$15 per hour per child |
| InterContinental Fiji | FJ$20.00 per hour, three-hour minimum; FJ$30 per hour on public holidays |
| Hilton Fiji | $30 for the first two hours (minimum booking), $12 per extra hour; $25 surcharge for bookings under two hours' notice or after 10:30pm; 10% extra on public holidays |
| Sofitel Fiji | $50 for the first two hours (two-hour minimum), $20 per additional hour; $25 surcharge for short notice or past 10:30pm |
The spread is more than fourfold, and the structure differs too — Malolo and Plantation charge by the hour from the first hour, while Hilton and Sofitel charge a two-hour block up front. For a three-hour dinner, Malolo's published rate is F$37.50 and Sofitel's is $70.
Outrigger Fiji publishes a Meimei nanny service "custom-tailored to your child's needs and available for children 6 months – 12 years" but no rate. Shangri-La and Castaway both say babysitting is available without publishing a price. Ask when you book, not when you arrive.
Which Fiji resorts will not take children?
Two, unambiguously, and both publish it themselves.
Likuliku Lagoon Resort, IN the Mamanucas, states: "Likuliku is an adults only resort and we are unable to accept guests under 17yrs." It is also "reserved exclusively for guests in-residence at the resort", so a day visit is not an option either.
Tokoriki Island Resort, also IN the Mamanucas, publishes itself as "Fiji's most awarded adults-only boutique luxury island resort", with 36 freestanding beachfront villas and a maximum of 72 guests. Its own fact sheet gives a minimum age of 16, though the document we found is dated 2019/20 — confirm the current minimum with the resort.
Separately, several family resorts carry adults-only zones, which is a feature rather than an obstacle. Hilton Fiji publishes two adults-only pools plus Koro Restaurant & Bar and private beachfront cabanas. Warwick Fiji publishes an Adult Only Pool & Bar and an Adult Only Beach. Sheraton Fiji has an adults-only pool and its Cellar & Barrel bar. Fiji Marriott Momi Bay publishes an adults-only Sunset Infinity Pool and overwater bungalows "specifically designed for adults". The Naviti's Talei Restaurant and Sunset Bar are both adults-only. Sofitel's Waitui Beach Club is adults-only. If you want an hour away from the splash pool without leaving the property, look for these.
Can you get connecting rooms?
Almost nobody publishes an answer. Only two resorts in this set do: Outrigger Fiji states "Connecting hotel rooms available", and Sheraton Fiji refers to "our interconnecting rooms". Everyone else is silent, which does not mean they lack them — it means you have to ask, and you should ask at the point of booking rather than at check-in, because connecting pairs are finite and allocated early.
While you are asking, get the room count too. Published totals across this set: Hilton Fiji 356 rooms, Crowne Plaza Fiji Nadi Bay 324, Radisson Blu Denarau 270, Fiji Marriott Momi Bay 250 including 114 suites, DoubleTree Fiji 120. The rest publish none.
Which should you book?
The most completely published family resort is Hilton Fiji Beach Resort & Spa. IKA Kids Club runs 8am to 8pm, is included in the rate, takes children from 4 independently, and the babysitting rate, surcharges and public-holiday loading are all published up front. You can plan a week from the website alone. It is ON Denarau Island, so day trips, restaurants and Port Denarau are all a short drive.
Best value on kids club: Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort, ON the Coral Coast. Three age brackets from 3 through teens, activities published as free to guests, connecting rooms published, and a nanny service for infants from six months — the only resort here that publishes any provision below age 3 beyond "supervised by a parent".
Best for an island without the island premium: Plantation Island Resort or Malolo Island Resort, both IN the Mamanucas. Both publish a complimentary kids club and the two cheapest babysitting rates in Fiji, at FJ$15 and F$12.50 an hour.
Budget carefully at: InterContinental Fiji and Sofitel Fiji. Both run excellent kids clubs on published session times, but both charge per session — FJ$35 and $30 respectively, per child. Three sessions a day for two children is FJ$210 at InterContinental. That is a real line in the holiday budget, not a rounding error.
Avoid, if you are travelling with children: Likuliku and Tokoriki. They are superb and they are not for you this trip. Keep them for Adults-Only Resorts in Fiji.
