At the only published all-inclusive ceremony-and-reception rate in the Fiji directory, FJ$20,000 to FJ$40,000 buys a wedding for roughly 60 to 150 guests - ceremony, buffet, a three-hour beverage package, a private reception venue, cake and three nights for the couple. It does not buy photography, guest flights or most guest rooms. This is the band where the guest count, not the venue, sets the price.
What is the arithmetic, exactly?
Almost no Fiji resort publishes a wedding price above the ceremony-package level. Yatule Resort & Spa on the Coral Coast is the exception, and because its headline package is scoped and its extra-head rate is published, it is the only sound basis for working this band out.
Yatule publishes: FJD$12,915 for ceremony and reception up to 30 people, including an island buffet, a three-hour standard beverage package, a private reception venue with setup, a one-tier cake, overhead lighting and three nights in a beachfront bure with breakfast. Extra adults are F$215 each; children aged three to eleven F$99.
Scaling that published rate gives the shape of the band. These are our calculations from Yatule's figures, not quoted prices:
| Guests | Calculated total (FJD) | NZD | AUD |
|---|---|---|---|
| 60 | 19,365 | 15,267 | 12,285 |
| 80 | 23,665 | 18,657 | 15,011 |
| 100 | 27,965 | 22,046 | 17,738 |
| 120 | 32,265 | 25,438 | 20,466 |
| 150 | 38,715 | 30,523 | 24,559 |
Conversions use Reserve Bank of Fiji indicative rates of 8 October 2026 (FJ$1 = NZ$0.7884, A$0.6343). The band opens at about 63 guests and closes at about 156.
That is the single most useful fact in this price range: you are buying heads, not a venue. Moving the ceremony from a beach to a lawn changes almost nothing. Adding twenty people changes FJ$4,300.
Which venues actually operate in this band?
Two kinds. First, the large mainland resorts with function space big enough for 60 to 150 and enough rooms to hold a guest list - Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort with 254 rooms and chapel, beach, garden and lawn settings, and Warwick Fiji Resort and Spa with 247 rooms and beach, garden and deck ceremonies, both on the Coral Coast. Neither publishes package prices, so both need a written quote.
Second, the mid-size island resorts where this budget buys a near-exclusive feel for a smaller list. Serenity Island Resort in the Mamanucas publishes function capacities - conference room to 50 seated or 100 cocktail, outdoor dining to 50 seated or 100 cocktail, outdoor lounge to 40 seated, pool deck to 70 - which is more detail than most Fiji resorts put in writing, and it is reached by about a 30-minute drive from Nadi airport to the marina plus roughly 25 minutes by boat. Its own pages give conflicting room counts, listing both 33 bures and 23 units accommodating up to 46 people, so confirm the number before you build a rooming list on it.
Tropica Island Resort publishes a whole-resort charter for up to 60 people with children permitted on full charters, and an Escape to Paradise ceremony package at FJ$2,999. The charter rate is not published.
What is not in the FJ$20,000-FJ$40,000 figure?
This is where budgets in this band break. The package arithmetic above covers the wedding day. It does not cover:
- Photography and film. Tokoriki Island Resort publishes photography at FJ$4,700 and videography at FJ$4,800 as add-ons, with hair and makeup at FJ$850 - a fair guide to resort-arranged pricing. Independent suppliers such as Nadi Bay Photography, Zoom Fiji Photography and Vivid Memories Fiji often quote less, but check travel. The Remote Resort publishes FJD$390 return for boat and car transfers plus lunch where a photographer is not staying overnight.
- Flowers beyond the package inclusions, from suppliers like Firefly Flowers Fiji or Genesis Flowers.
- Styling, hire and marquee. Party & Events Fiji and Clyde Equipment Marquee Hire cover the wet-weather structures a 100-guest outdoor reception needs.
- Entertainment beyond resort serenaders - a DJ from DJ Works Fiji or a band.
- Guest accommodation. Three nights for the couple is included at Yatule; the other 60 to 150 people pay for themselves.
- Guest flights, which are usually the largest number anywhere near this wedding.
- Beverages past three hours, and corkage if you bring your own. Yatule advises against outside liquor and applies corkage.
- Tax. Fiji's VAT has been 12.5% since 1 August 2025, and a 5% Tourism Services Tax commenced on 1 September 2026 for businesses above a prescribed F$2 million turnover threshold, per the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service. On FJ$30,000 that is a swing of more than FJ$5,000 if the quote turns out to be exclusive. Ask. VAT, service charge and levies on a Fiji event invoice explains how to read the answer.
Should you buy out a resort at this budget?
Generally not. A buyout means paying for every room whether or not you fill it, and at FJ$20,000 to FJ$40,000 that arithmetic rarely clears. Neither Serenity Island's buy-out, which it says accommodates up to 70 people, nor Tropica's 60-person charter carries a published rate, and both will quote above this band for a full property over several nights. Buyouts become the better value in the next tier - see Fiji wedding venues FJ$40,000-FJ$75,000.
What does work here is near-exclusivity: a smaller resort where your 60 guests are most of the occupancy anyway, or a large resort where you take one function space and the resort guarantees no competing wedding that day. Get that guarantee in writing.
Three questions that decide the quote
- Is the price per head or per event, and what is the food and beverage minimum? A per-head quote scales honestly. A per-event quote with a minimum can hide a cliff.
- When are final numbers due? Yatule publishes final guest numbers at least two months out and full payment at least one month out. Your cost is your confirmed headcount, not your attendance.
- What is the wet-weather venue, and does it hold the same number? A 120-guest lawn reception with a 60-guest indoor backup is not a plan. Our list of venues with real wet-weather backup is the filter.
The verdict
At FJ$20,000 to FJ$40,000 you are planning a proper wedding for a proper guest list, and the venue decision is mostly a question of which property can seat your number under cover. Pick the resort that publishes capacities and a per-head rate over the one with better photographs, then spend the difference on photography and flowers.
