Fiji has far fewer real deck ceremony sites than its photography suggests. Four resorts publish a named, bookable deck — Nanuku's Sunset Deck, the Radisson Blu's Ocean Deck, Warwick Fiji's Navau Deck and The Remote Resort's firepit and pavilion decks — and only two of those print a guest number. This is the honest list.

What counts as a deck wedding venue?

A raised timber platform, built out over sand, reef flat or lagoon, with a level floor and an open horizon. Not a beach. Not a terrace attached to a restaurant. The distinction matters because it changes three things at once: your chairs stand straight, your shoes stay on, and your guest count is fixed by the structure rather than by how much sand you rope off.

That last point is the whole trade. A deck is the most comfortable outdoor ceremony setting in Fiji and the most tightly capped.

How we ranked these venues

No venue pays for placement here. The order reflects four tests, applied in this sequence:

  1. Is the deck a named, bookable space rather than a general offer to marry "by the water"?
  2. Is a guest capacity published, so you can plan a list before you enquire?
  3. Is there a covered wet-weather alternative on site, named and sized?
  4. How hard is it to get guests there — sealed road, boat, or domestic flight?

Venues that publish numbers rank above venues that do not, even where the unpublished deck may be the prettier one. That is a deliberate bias towards planning certainty.

Capacities above are the resorts' own published figures, taken from their wedding and function pages. Where a cell says "not published", the venue has not released a number — it is not an estimate we are withholding.

Nanuku Resort: the only deck in Fiji with a full capacity set

Nanuku, at Pacific Harbour, is the one venue that treats its deck like a function space and documents it accordingly. The Sunset Deck is listed at 60 for a ceremony, 60 for cocktails and dinner, and 80 for a standing cocktail event — three numbers for three different uses, which is more than almost any Fijian resort publishes about any outdoor space.

The resort also states an overall range of 6 to 120 guests across its indoor and outdoor spaces, and lists a separate Club House Lawn, Private Island, Beach and Private Beach without individual capacities. Room rental and set-up is shown as POA against every space, so the deck is bookable but not priced in public.

If your list is under 60 and you want a deck with a documented reception capacity on the same platform, this is the shortest route to a plan.

Radisson Blu Denarau: the deck with a named wet-weather plan

The Ocean Deck at the Radisson Blu is a beachfront venue the resort describes as taking banquet-style events for up to 60 guests. What lifts it up this list is the sentence next to it: the Ballroom seats up to 100 and is named explicitly as the wet-weather backup for the outdoor venues.

That is unusual. Most Fiji resorts will move you indoors if it rains; few put the alternative in writing with a seated number attached. The resort's published wedding packages — Blu Lomani for the couple alone, Blu Denarau for 20 guests, Blu Fiji for 50 with additional guest charges — give you a scale to price against, even though no FJD figures appear.

On Denarau you also get the shortest guest journey of any venue on this list, which matters more than couples expect. Our wet-weather backup roundup covers how to pressure-test that promise.

Warwick Fiji: the deck with the deepest indoor fallback

The Navau Deck is where Warwick Fiji invites couples to exchange vows beneath the stars, and the resort also offers vows at Wicked Walu, its private-island restaurant. Neither carries a published capacity.

What Warwick does publish is function space, and plenty of it: Vusu Boardroom at 30 banquet, the Coral Coast Conference Centre at 200, and Talanoa Hall at 400. Worth knowing before you quote anyone: the resort's wedding listings give Talanoa Hall as 400 banquet, while its meetings pages give 500 cocktail for the same room. Those are different set-ups rather than a contradiction, but if a figure is load-bearing in your planning, get it confirmed in writing for your set-up.

The Remote Resort: two decks and the clearest rain answer

The Remote Resort names five ceremony settings, two of them decks — the beachside firepit deck and the Main Pavilion deck — alongside the beach, the garden and the jetty. Its rain plan is the covered deck of the Main Pavilion, which is the neatest answer on this list: the backup is itself a deck.

It is also the only venue here publishing a package price. The Remote Elopement Package is FJD$3,117 — about NZ$2,475 at 1 FJD = 0.794 NZD (Xe, 5 October 2026), or about A$1,979 at 0.635 AUD (Xe, 11 October 2026). The resort also publishes FJD$390 return for car and boat transfers plus lunch where a photographer is not staying overnight, which is the kind of line item most venues leave you to discover later.

The cost is the journey: a domestic flight from Nadi and then a boat. Build a rest day around it rather than pretending the transfer is not there.

Likuliku, Sau Bay and Matanivusi: small, exposed, and for very short lists

For two to a dozen people, the over-water or beachside deck is the best setting in the country, and these three are where to look.

  • Likuliku Lagoon Resort offers ceremonies on the deck of your own over-water bure, as well as beach, poolside and private-island settings. Two conditions to know: no wedding ceremonies on Sundays (vow renewals are possible with a celebrant), and weddings are free between November and March, conditions applying — which is a real offer, and one you should get the conditions for in writing.
  • Sau Bay Resort & Spa lists beach and deck settings, a 20-guest maximum, a coordinator on site and a whole-resort buyout across seven rooms.
  • Matanivusi Beach Eco Resort lists beach and deck, on the Coral Coast, with nothing published on capacity.

Taveuni Palms Resort and Navini Island Resort both list deck settings too, at two and eleven rooms respectively — genuinely private, genuinely tiny.

So which deck should you choose?

  • Up to 60 guests, with the reception on the same deck: Nanuku Resort. It is the only venue publishing ceremony, dinner and cocktail numbers for one deck.
  • Up to 60 guests, with the rain plan already written down: Radisson Blu Denarau. Ocean Deck out, Ballroom for 100 in.
  • Easiest guest journey: anything ON Denarau Island. Guests land at Nadi and are at the resort without a boat or a second flight.
  • Largest indoor fallback: Warwick Fiji, with 400 banquet under a roof.
  • An elopement on a deck, priced in public: The Remote Resort at FJD$3,117.
  • A ceremony for two over the water: Likuliku Lagoon Resort, on your own bure deck, any day but Sunday.

One question to ask every one of them: what is the deck's weight and guest limit, and who set it? A timber platform has an engineering answer as well as a styling answer, and the second one is no use to you.
