The Mamanucas hold Fiji's deepest concentration of island wedding venues: more than a dozen resorts with published ceremony settings, two private-island charters, several on-site chapels and a day venue listed at up to 400 guests. The number that decides your shortlist is not capacity — it is the boat, which runs 30 minutes to 1 hour 45 minutes from Port Denarau, several times a day.
That last part is the chain's real advantage. Guests can arrive on the wedding morning, late flights can be recovered, and the last boat home is not a once-a-day cliff. Everything below assumes you understand that and are choosing between islands rather than between chains — if you are still deciding that, start with the Mamanucas vs the Yasawas.
Every Mamanuca wedding venue, with what is published
Guest maximums marked "directory" are MICE Fiji's listed figures; the rest come from the venue's own site. Blank means the venue does not publish a number.

Which venue publishes the most usable detail?
Musket Cove, by a distance, and it is worth working through because it shows you what to demand from every other resort.
Ceremony: Coral Cay Island, a lawned cay fringed with coconut palms, up to 100. The beach beneath a flame tree, up to 100. The Island Chapel — colonial-inspired, hand-crafted pews, stained glass — up to 80.
Reception: Beach Hut up to 120, music until 10pm. Under the Coconuts up to 100 with fairy lights, music until 10pm. Marama Room up to 100, air-conditioned with kitchen access, music until 10pm. Dick's Place up to 40, indoors, no music permitted. Island Bar up to 100 for post-ceremony drinks, music until 11pm.
Wet weather: the Marama Room is named as the contingency for outdoor venues.
That is four numbers most resorts will not give you: ceremony capacity, reception capacity, covered-fallback capacity, and the hour the music stops. Note what it reveals — if 120 guests accept, the Beach Hut holds them but the rain plan does not.
Which Mamanuca island suits which wedding?
Two to 25 guests, luxury, overwater. Likuliku Lagoon Resort is the chain's overwater address and publishes ceremony options including the beach at sunset, the horizon-edge pool, your own over-water bure deck, and a private island. It is adults-only. Two conditions to note: ceremonies cannot be held on Sundays, and the resort publishes that weddings are free between November and March, conditions applying — which is a real saving in exchange for the wet half of the year.
Up to 60, whole resort, published price. Tropica Island Resort is the rare Fiji resort that publishes package prices: FJ$2,999 for its Escape to Paradise wedding and FJ$1,899 for a vow renewal, with full-resort charters for up to 60 people and children permitted on charters. At the Xe mid-market rate on 5 October 2026, FJ$2,999 was about NZ$2,380.
60 to 120, a chapel, and options if it rains. Musket Cove. Nothing else in the chain publishes this range of alternatives.
Adults-only, small, beach-only. Matamanoa, Tokoriki and Lomani are all listed as adults-only with on-site coordinators; Lomani's directory entry shows weddings from 2 guests up to 67.
A family wedding with children. Malolo Island Resort, Plantation Island Resort and Mana Island Resort & Spa. Mana is the largest room block in the chain at a listed 160 rooms, which matters when 90 guests all need a bed.
Total privacy. Wadigi Island — three rooms, taken whole. Serenity Island Resort and Vomo Island Fiji also offer buyouts. See Fiji wedding venues: private island exclusivity.
A big, loud party close to the mainland. Malamala Beach Club, about 30 minutes out, carries the chain's highest listed guest maximum at 400 and takes buyouts. It is a day club rather than a resort, so accommodation is back on Denarau — which for a 200-guest wedding is an advantage, not a drawback.
What does the transfer actually do to your day?
The published times are ranges because the catamarans make multiple stops. The same island can be 55 minutes or 105 minutes depending on the sailing. Three consequences for a wedding:
- Build the ceremony for late afternoon. Guests arriving on a mid-morning sailing need time to check in and change.
- Confirm the last return service and its capacity. This is the hard edge of the night, and a late charter is a cost, not a courtesy.
- Count the boat as a capacity ceiling. A venue that seats 120 is irrelevant if the transfer booked for your date carries 80.
For island logistics on the day, SeaFiji, Mamanuca Express and Manu Charters all serve the chain from Denarau.
When should you marry in the Mamanucas?
The chain sits in western Viti Levu's rainfall pattern: Nadi averages roughly 365mm in January against about 50mm in July, with cyclone season November to April. May to October is the dry, settled window and prices reflect it.
The counter-argument is Likuliku's November-to-March offer. If a covered fallback sized for your full guest list exists and is in writing, the wet-season trade can be worth taking. If it does not, it is not.
The verdict
Shortlist on four things, in this order: the covered fallback and its capacity; the music curfew; whether children are permitted; and the transfer time with the last service home. Capacity and photographs come after.
Musket Cove for published detail and a chapel. Likuliku for overwater luxury and a genuine off-season saving. Tropica for a published price and a 60-guest buyout. Malamala Beach Club for scale. Wadigi for total privacy.
