Crowne Plaza Fiji Nadi Bay publishes 1,540 m² of meeting space across seven venues, 324 rooms and suites, and a 15-minute drive from Nadi International Airport — the shortest airport transfer of any large-capacity venue in the country. It also publishes capacity figures that contradict each other by around 600 delegates, and that is the first thing a planner needs to know.

What is the headline capacity, and why does nobody agree on it?

Three figures are in circulation for the resort's main room, and they are not close.

Up to 1,450 guestsMICE Fiji directory recordThe Crown Convention Centre
1,500 guestsTrade press, cited separatelyThe main ballroom specifically

Our own Space record for the Grand Ballroom lists it at 925 m², pillar-free, and deliberately leaves the delegate capacity null pending resolution, precisely because of this spread. We would rather publish a blank than a guess.

Here is the most likely explanation, offered as inference rather than fact. Three further rooms sit in our records — Event Centre 1, 2 and 3 — each at 448 theatre, 180 banquet and 350 cocktail. Summed, that is 1,344 theatre. If those three are the divisions of the 925 m² Grand Ballroom, their combined theatre figure lands much closer to the 1,450 and 1,500 numbers than to the resort's own 900. A plausible reconciliation is that 900 is a comfortable seated plenary and 1,344–1,500 is the room packed to its theoretical maximum, which is the sort of gap that routinely opens up between a sales sheet and a fire-safety plan.

Do not plan on any of these numbers. Ask for the certified maximum occupancy for the Grand Ballroom, in theatre and banquet, in writing, and ask whether Event Centre 1–3 are subdivisions of it. That single question resolves the whole table. We cover why this matters nationally in which Fiji venue is actually the largest and how many delegates can Fiji host.

What are the actual spaces?

The Baravi numbers are the reassuring part of this page: 370 + 155 = 525, which matches the full ballroom's theatre figure exactly. A set of capacities that adds up is a set of capacities someone measured. By contrast, the resort describes the Baravi Ballroom at 440 for a banquet while our record holds 450 — a ten-seat discrepancy, trivial in itself but worth confirming if you are seating to the wall.

The resort's own description of Baravi 2 gives "around 165 guests" against the 155 theatre figure in our record. Again small, again worth a line in the contract.

One structural point: 1,540 m² total, minus the Grand Ballroom's 925 m² and the Baravi Ballroom's 493 m², leaves 122 m² for everything else across a claimed seven venues. That arithmetic only works if Baravi 1, Baravi 2 and Event Centre 1–3 are subdivisions rather than additional rooms, which supports the inference above and means you cannot run the Grand Ballroom and three large breakouts simultaneously. If your programme needs a plenary plus concurrent streams at scale, that is the constraint to test first.

What else does the property offer an organiser?

Accommodation: 324 rooms and suites, on Wailoaloa Beach at Nadi Bay. For a residential conference that is enough to house a 300-delegate programme in-house without a second hotel — see multi-property conferences for when it is not, and how room blocks work in Fiji for the contracting.

Dining and function outlets:

  • Harvest Restaurant and La Bottega Italian Ristorante, both with private dining rooms the resort positions for pre- and post-conference gatherings
  • Urban Sugar Beach Club, named for cocktail functions
  • An oceanfront south lawn, described as a private poolside space for bespoke events

No capacity is published for any of the four. For gala planning, see gala dinners and award nights in Fiji and the constraint most people miss, banquet kitchen capacity.

Wedding settings: a beachfront ceremony on the resort's private white-sand beach and a garden ceremony in the tropical gardens, neither with a published guest capacity. The resort's wedding packages are covered separately.

What is not published, and should be asked

This is a well-equipped property with a thin public data set. Six gaps to close before you shortlist it:

  1. Ceiling height and rigging points in the Grand Ballroom. Nothing is published. For a 900-plus plenary with screens, this decides your production design — see staging, rigging and set build in Fiji and LED walls, projection and screens.
  2. Loading access and dock dimensions. Not published. Ask for door heights and whether a truck can reach the ballroom floor.
  3. Bandwidth. Not published. For a hybrid programme this is non-negotiable — see internet and bandwidth at Fiji venues and is the internet good enough in Fiji for a hybrid conference.
  4. Natural light and blackout in each room. Not published, and it matters for a full-day programme.
  5. Wet-weather policy for the south lawn and beach club. Not published. The convention centre is the obvious fallback; get the move written down with a decision deadline. See wet-weather contingency planning for outdoor programmes.
  6. Rates. No day delegate rate, room rental or catering per head is published — normal for Fiji, and the reason we publish what a Fiji conference costs per delegate and where Fiji conference budgets blow out.

How does it compare with the alternatives?

The Sheraton's Denarau Island Convention Centre is the largest single purpose-built space in the region on published figures. What Crowne Plaza Nadi Bay has that Denarau does not is the airport, and for certain programmes that is worth more than square metres. Compare drive times in Nadi to Denarau, Coral Coast, Suva and Pacific Harbour: real transfer times.

The verdict

Shortlist it if your programme is arrival- and departure-heavy — a one- or two-night conference, a regional meeting with delegates flying in from multiple Pacific ports, a pre- or post-event hub, or anything where a 15-minute transfer removes a coach movement from both ends. At 324 rooms it houses a mid-sized residential conference in one building, and a 925 m² pillar-free ballroom plus a 493 m² divisible second ballroom is a genuinely flexible pair.

Look elsewhere if you need a certified capacity above 900 today rather than after a site inspection, or if you need a large plenary running alongside three large concurrent streams — the 1,540 m² total suggests the big rooms are the same rooms.

Before you do anything else, get the certified maximum occupancy of the Grand Ballroom in writing. Everything else on this page is stable; that one number is not.

Next: compare the field in conference venues in Nadi, start from the Fiji conference hotels hub, and run a proper inspection using what a Fiji site inspection should cover. For production, the directory lists Encore Event Technologies Fiji and Microhire for AV, Formscaff Fiji for staging and Party & Events Fiji for furniture and hire.

All capacities are as published by the resort, recorded in the MICE Fiji directory, or cited in trade press, as at 12 October 2026. Where sources conflict we publish every figure with its origin rather than selecting one. Confirm certified capacities directly with the venue. Last reviewed 12 October 2026.
