Ten questions, answered honestly, will route your event to one of Fiji's ten precincts in about three minutes. Score each answer, add them up, and the table at the end hands you the filtered venue list rather than a brochure. The questions are ordered so the biggest constraints are settled first.

What your score means
| Total | Your precinct | Why | Venue list |
|---|---|---|---|
| Negative score | IN the Mamanucas or IN the Yasawas | Small, premium, experience-led, buyout-friendly | Mamanucas · Yasawas |
| Negative, and remoteness is the point | Taveuni and Vanua Levu or Fiji's Outer Islands | Board retreats and high-end incentives, with a travel day each end | Taveuni and Vanua Levu · Outer Islands |
| 0 to 5 | Pacific Harbour | Smaller high-end programmes, activity-led, on a sealed road | Pacific Harbour |
| 6 to 11 | ON the Coral Coast | Resort-scale function space, strong outdoor options, road access | Coral Coast |
| 12 to 17 | ON Denarau Island | The deepest cluster of large rooms, shortest airport transfer | Denarau Island |
| 18 or more | Nadi and ON Denarau Island combined | Convention-scale space plus multi-property room blocks | Nadi · Denarau Island |
| Question 3 answered "government" | Suva — overrides the total | The institutions are there; see the access caveat below | Suva |
| A tight budget with road access needed | Lautoka | Lower-cost rooms within reach of the western precincts | Lautoka |
Why each question carries the weight it does
Questions 1, 4 and 7 are the hard constraints. Delegate count, plenary size and freight are physical. If you need a plenary of 800 or an exhibition bump-in, the precinct choice is effectively made for you, because that inventory is concentrated around Nadi and Denarau — the Sheraton Fiji publishes the Denarau Island Convention Centre at between 1,150 and 2,000 guests depending which of its own documents you read, which tells you both that the capacity exists and that you must get your figure confirmed in writing. See which Fiji venue is actually the largest.
Question 2 is the one planners under-weight. A session on arrival day turns transfer time into programme risk. Denarau is a short road transfer from Nadi International; an island property is a boat on a timetable. If delegates must be seated the day they land, score it honestly. See how do you move 300 delegates from Nadi Airport and Nadi International Airport: the planner's guide.
Question 3 overrides everything because institutions do not travel to suit venues. A Pacific regional meeting, a university conference or a government summit generally belongs in Suva, and the cost is air access — most delegates still arrive at Nadi and travel on. Suva or Nadi and Nausori Airport and the Suva access problem work through it.
Question 5 is about room blocks, not rooms. Fiji's largest single properties top out well below the biggest conferences held here, so a 600-delegate event is usually a multi-property event. That is a solved problem, not a disqualifier — see multi-property conferences and how room blocks work in Fiji.
Question 10 shifts emphasis rather than banning months. Running between November and April is entirely normal; it just means you weight covered walkways, named indoor alternatives with real capacities, generator coverage and road resilience much more heavily on inspection. What happens to a conference if there is a cyclone and wet weather contingency by venue are the planning pair.
If the quiz points two ways, split the programme
The most common honest answer for a mid-size incentive-plus-conference is both: plenary days where the function space and the lift are, then a move for the reward element. Fiji makes this unusually easy because Nadi, Denarau, the Coral Coast, Pacific Harbour and Suva sit on one road, and Musket Cove Island Resort & Marina and its Mamanuca neighbours are a boat ride from Denarau rather than a second flight.
Air access is also widening. Fiji Airways began Nadi–Gold Coast service on 11 June 2026, three times a week on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays, as its seventh Australian destination alongside Cairns, Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne and Adelaide. More origin cities landing at Nadi strengthens the arrival-day case for the western precincts.
Next step
Take your precinct, open its venue list, then shortlist against capacity rather than photography: /capacities holds the delegate-band lists, from 50 delegates to 1,000. Build the comparison in the Fiji venue comparison matrix, then plan the trip with what a Fiji site inspection should cover and the site inspection checklist.
Properties worth putting on a first shortlist include Sheraton Fiji and Hilton Fiji ON Denarau Island, Warwick Fiji ON the Coral Coast, The Pearl Resort at Pacific Harbour, Grand Pacific Hotel Suva in the capital and Tanoa International Hotel beside the airport. The hub is Fiji for business events, and the airport precinct is Nadi.
